I'll stop writing down my grip training in the way I've done so far because of several reasons:

1. I think I've reached my goal of a 3#-close

2. There's a lot work - waiting for me in the next months..... :mellow

3. I'm not really sure which main grip goals I'll aim for in the future (not sure at the moment - the only goal is to compete in the German Grip Championships and to have fun while competing against Frankyboy and all the other competitors)

Irrespective of the fact that I'll stop writing down every detail of my training I'll use my log to keep You informed about my grip progress in an irregular way (for example posting my new PBs and/or new goals)

I don't think so, Old Masherhand :D ! I only want to improve my pinch and I don't own two 15kg plates......but two 20kg plates for pinch is a very long way to go for me. I know that my pinch goal is not exactly enough but that doesn't mean I'm not motivated enough! :rock

I'll concentrate much more on fatbar (A. Axle and Holle-it-up-Replica) :) !

I lifted that in the German Grip Championships!

- pinch goal is clear now: Blob 50 (as fast as possible - race against Frankyboy)

- fatbar (as mentioned): 160kg+ in August '05

How do you train with the IM pinch block and how much do you think you will have to be pinching before you can lift the 50lb blob?

Train hard and good luck with your goals! :mosher

Thanks! I don't train with the IM block on a regular basis - I prefer a wooden pinch block (8,8cm wide) which I made on my own. I use it because it doesn't matter if my hands are sweaty or not (makes a difference on the IM block) - so I can judge much more accurate about my pinch progress. I bought the IM block only to know my entrance comp weights! I don't know how much I have to lift on that thing to lift the Blob - it's a totally different tool. But I'll let you know...... :mosher

great log. can you hold the #3 shut if you force close it?

i found that helped me the most.

Thanks dannyboy! Yes I can hold it shut. That's part of my new approach to the grippers. I only train grippers once a week in a 3 week cycle. First week: noset, holds, second week: parallel set (singles), third week: as first week but holds first!

Technique Burki?

Folding and bending (reverse) until a small hole was in the can - then ripping the can in half! It was so easy that I'll try a normal coke. OK, no Kinney-style - but funny :happy !

I had working gloves on while destroying the can...

Closed my RB160 noset style righthanded the first time today! For most people here nothing special - I know. But for me it's a great step forward....
