Triceps were completely gassed so my bending took a hit. Need to take a few days and rest up before I bend again. Maybe 3-4 days. Tried attaching a plate at the end of the 2 plates for pinching for a different feel and to progress.

Chez
Thanks Chez! At least now I can finally train at your place and lift that damn sledge. When's the next NY Throwdown? Itching for another crack at the medley. Probably some time this winter. I have that other King Kong grip contest that I want to host with all those 1 handed lifts in mid October. Broly
7/26/13 - Morning Bending Warmed up with light squats, pushups and upright rows. Initially I wasn't too into this and was very tired as I haven't done a early morning workout in some time. Woke up at 5:30am for this. Next I cranked out 3 bends in IM Singles with 1/4 7" HRS. This was actually very helpful to get the movement down and get comfortable. Working Warm up Red in 1+2/3 IM Pads. Felt kind of easy and a proper warm up. Working Bends 1x Red in IM Singles. Spread the load better on my hands so that initial kink pain wasn't really there. Held the kink which I've never been able to do and got it going. Hands in general just blew up so it took a couple of attempts before this fell. 1x Red in IM Singles. Kink was better than the first but hands and body a bit shot so this also took a couple of attempts. Even though I wasn't able to get the 2 Reds within a minute in one attempt it was still somewhat of a PR with my bending. First time I've been able to bend 2 Reds back to back in singles and first time I've been able to hold the kink with out that nagging pain over my middle finger knuckle. I think this was compliments of a slightly different hand position which helped. Broly
I'm going to give myself a 4 day rest for bending and a 3 day rest from all type of working out (hitting upper body tomorrow just to get it in). The other thing I need to change up also is when I switch to crush. I think I'm doing it premature and should take a couple more hits before the switch. These two bends each felt a bit too far away before I went for it. Lessons learned is a never ending journey. Wednesday though these suckers are getting smashed in 30 or less! P.S. Nate that suggestion for a thin piece of electrical tape on the middle finger joints was a godsend! It doesn't offer any type of cushion at all so they still get conditioned but they keep the skin from splitting which is what i need. They were splitting every workout. Broly
8/1/13 - F.E.R.U.P.S 4-6 sets & 5-10 Reps. Each exericse done one after the other. Was feeling very shot today and not into working out at all but needed to get this in so I could give myself a 2 day rest before my next bending session Sunday. Saxon Curls Saxon Wrist Curls Hercules bar curls Hercules bar seated curls Twist-Yo-Wrist WD Standing Pronate/Sup Band Stretches Staying the course with my plan. It was important to hit these movements today to keep them warm and steady. Wasn't looking for any type of PRs so I kept it with more volume to allow for a good workout and to heal quicker. If I had three days of rest before my next session then I wouldn't hit them hard. Haven't done a backoff workout in a while anyway so this worked out good. Now I will rest up till Sunday, Hit bending again followed by grip, then monday kill it with upperbody followed by a 4 day rest and bending on Friday before I go to AC next weekend and blow off some steam. Buying the Shiny 5/16 Steel Works from Lowes was a HUGE success as it's the perfect strength for the first bend before trying the Reds cert style. Everything else was great. Hands feeling a tad jacked up so I did the rest of the bends in BGW after the first 2. Sucks I didn't get the Big Bastard but I am going to hold off on anymore FBBC certs till after I cert the Red. Broly
8/9/13- Red Nail Certification. Ironmind.com write up and video posted on Race to Red Nail thread. http://www.gripboard.com/index.php?showtopic=38476&page=36#entry579302 My adrenalne and nerves were through the roof and it was difficult to keep calm while I was warming up. Warmup 3 sets of squats pushups and upright rows. Bending Warm ups (all done in IM singles) 2x 60D spirals 2x 1/4 7" Steel works HRS 1x 5/16 7" Steek works HRS (shiny) Cert Bend 1x Red Nail - Completed a bit after the 20 second mark but decided to unwrap a few layers and crush it further just to be sure. Total time was about 40 seconds. Now that I got the Bastard cert and Red Nail cert done I will be switching focus to get the MM0. Bending will go back to one day a week and after my main workouts. Steel have a few more bending goals but I don't mind getting them slowly.
Broly
8/17/13- Back to Business......(sort of) Grippers Tx16, 10, #1x10, #2x9, #2.5x2 (1L), x2 (1L), x1, GHP5x6 (4L), x7 (5L) Squats 45x10, 10, 95x10, 133x6, 144x5, 154x4, 163x1, 174x1, 183x1 (PR) 2" Vbar 88x5, 105x3, 130x1, 150x1, 155x1R, 105x1 hold Hub 25x6, 35x3, 45x1, 50xF, 47.5x1, 35x3 swings Plate Pinches 50x5 (3R), 55x4 (2R), 60x1L (55x1R), 65x1, same RT 100x5, 110x5, 130x1, 135x1, 135x1L Looks like I didn't lose too much from a long relaxing break and going for the Red. Now that I nailed the bastard and red nail cert I don't have the fire to bend anymore. Sure there are other bending goals I can achieve but I want to get back grip and focus on the MM0. Putting bending on the back burner and will just bend here and there when I have extra time. MY thoughts on my squat progress:.....I F**KING hate Squats!!! but love the results I get from doing them. I'm not much for reps and never have much more than 5 in me when going a bit heavier but I am notcing my 1RM is going up a bit more. I'll just keep doing what I'm doing because it seems to work good for me. Even my 183 attempt felt easier but was running low on time to try more weight. MMO PLAN Attacking this the same way I did bending. Twice a week with a 3-4 day rest in between but I'm going to alternate between Grippers and the GHP negative machine. Broly
9/1/13- ZOMBIE STATUS.... Been EXTREMELY busy lately with getting everything ready for the baby and haven't had a chance to get a good workout in. The day I planned on working out was the same day my wife went into Labor! All I kept thinking was, thank God I was able to get my Red Nail cert before hand because I can't imagine going for the cert in my current status. Since the hospital and taking him home it's been a challenge to muster up the energy the turn on the TV let alone grip or bend anything but I am truly humbled as my wife blew me away with her strength and resilience when in labor and pushing out our son. She truly is my hero for going through all that pain and fighting through a 22 1/2 hour labor with 2 1/2 hours of straight pushing. In the end we are blessed with our son Dominic who weighed in at a healthy 7lbs 9oz of pure baby Muscle. I can already tell he will be a force to be reckoned with as I can't even hold his arms down to swaddle him. This kid is strong! I'm not expecting any PRs until I can get some decent sleep but will still continue to press forward as I can. Below are the results from Sunday's workout. Needed to keep this short as I was only on about 4 hours of sleep and didn't last long. Squats 45x15, 95x10, 133x5, 153x1, 164x1 Grippers Tx20, #1x15, #2x11 (6L), GHP5x10 (8L), #2.5x2 (L x Fail) Saxon DL 35x12, 85x8, 135x1, 140x1, 145x1 Bench 133x12, 153x8, 163x5 Saxon Curls 55x7, 60x6, 5 FG DB Rows 50x10, 60x9, 8 WD L1x10 (6L), 2x1

Getting very close to a body weight 1arm Axel DL. Hub also doing good. I started to gas near the axel and hub so called it after that.
