****Took a bunch of static hits on a unfinished cold Red nail. Also tried Chest crush strap holds******

The explosive singles are done from the hardest range of motion in my power rack where the bar is pretty right by my chest. I do a rep, let go, do a rep, etc.

Also tried doing standard Deadlifts to improve my form and to be able to do more weight and train towards the axel.

Pretty damn good workout. The Saxon bar is amazing and hits my forearms right near the wrist which is exactly where I want it to be! Destroys the fingers and is very versatile.

Vbar is not something that's good to start with. lessons learned here. Took a while to get warmed up. Need to season this thing too.

Well it was bound to happen but I had a bit of an off day for bending. Been on such a high lately. My middle fingers were just not having it and I decided to listen to my body and chill. I'll come back to it in a few days to let them heal up from the beating I've been giving them lately.

Just realizing now I've had 7 bending sessions in 3 weeks. The most time off in between was 5 days, the least was 1 day and the average has been 2 days. I definitely need another 4-5 day break or so to let the finger joints heal up good.

June 13th - THE DECLINE

looking to do a 2 day a week program at the moment. Started a new job and I have to be in a bit earlier so I can't really workout in the mornings on weekdays. Started this at 9pm. Didn't bother keeping track because my numbers were terrible. Had absolutely no energy, even with a shot of espresso!

Squats - awful, not into it. No drive needed for the heavier weight.

Grippers - the only thing good. Able to close a #2 for 10 or more reps and easily closed the 2.5 again each hand. Got it on video which I will put up later on.

Sledge DLs, bent over BB rows, adjustable blob - all just ehh.

Bending - when I got to bending all I wanted to do was call it a night but I decided to give it a shot. My 7" 5/16 shiny bars are normally easy. I could only get one. The dull bars didn't even budge. My hands and fingers are acting like there not conditioned at all. Pain over my middle fingers from the pressure, same with my palm and the pinching. I have no idea what's going on but it feels like I just took two giant steps back with bending. Utterly Pissed right now....

You are probably just pushing too hard buddy. Rest is very important. Take a couple days off and you will be back stronger. Those fingers need to heal.

Juiced some beets and apples, digested for 30 minutes then a 20oz cup of Maxwell coffee, wait 30 minutes then BOOM! Rocket fuel for the next 2.5 hours of an insane workout that killed me for days after. One of the best damn workouts I've probably ever had. With bending now my left knuckle is the weak one and my right is good. Go figure. Everything else was good.

My gripper progress is on freakin point lately. Rolling Thunder is also going up alot. Everything else was good but my bending is out of wack. I need to change my approach and do some volume bending with the shiny and dull nails and finish those off and give the Red a break for a week or two and see if this helps.

After I failed on the Red again it took me out of the game mentally and I just wasn't into it anymore. I even planned everything perfect but still had no energy when I got home from work. Started at 6:30pm with a big ass starbucks before and no luck .

BENDING

Knuckles and skin are perfectly healed and thick but I'm feeling the pain right down to the bone on both hands for the middle finger. Doesn't feel like an injury at all, it just feels like my fingers can't handle the tougher nails and the force anymore. Instead of just stalling on bending right now it's gone all the way into reverse. Words can't even begin to describe how frustrating this is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was making such good progress too. It's a damn shame......

Overall this was an amazing workout and I just killed it on everything again. Really glad I left the bending for last as I knew if I ran into this problem it would take me out of the game. Not even sure how to proceed on the bending front but doing great on everything else.

Had a bit too much caffeine for this and was a bit shaky and crazy sweaty for the first 30 minutes. Powered through and had a great workout. For Bending it started off worse than ever with not even being able to budge a Shiny but I decided that no matter what I was going to bend a couple today so I just dealt with it and put on layers when needed. This seemed like a great idea and it caused for a great workout. I'll just keep going down this route till my fingers get out of this funk of being unable to deal with the pressure.

Wasn't really feeling this workout even though I hit some good numbers, especially with the plate pinch Euro. I only did about 2/3rds of what I wanted to get done and decided that if I wasn't feeling it to just stop so I wouldn't continue pushing myself and get crappy numbers. There's always the next day. Trying to focus more on training with these movements instead of constantly just going for singles and PR attempts which is a bad habit of mine.

Great workout. Kept that mentality of training and not just doing singles and PR attempts all the time. Great bending session with a slightly different approach that seemed to workout great. So instead of warming up with the easier nails in singles then going to the harder ones I'm just going straight to the big nails but putting on more padding to warm up then strip them down as I move along. I'm already warmed up from the previous exercises and this really helped get me in a groove. My middle fingers are still the issue but it's ok because eventually they will be capable of not feeling much for these bigger nails if I stick with it. Took down two brand new Bastards which are suppose to be harder but felt easier than the newer reds, well for the sweep to crush anyway. Here's a vid below.

Thanks Chez but my dumbass did everything but measure the nail. I'm going to go for an official cert bend hopefully this weekend. I think getting the Bastard cert will be a big confidence booster and be that added motivation I need to then lock up the red

Life's been very busy and I can't get into a good training groove, extremely tired every day and am very inconsistent with the training and results. Need to step back a bit and regroup. Probably won't be going on the board much till I can get back to a better frame of mind. Will be still working out when I can and maintaining my goals. I will be posting back hopefully soon. 7 more weeks till my wife gives birth! Very exciting times!

Sad to hear. Better get back into the frame of mind and come back with a vengeance. You are not allowed to quit gripping.

Btw, think coffee will help? I'll ship you as many as I can fit in a large flat rate box for $30.

Thanks Yori and don't worry I've not quitting at all, not even close. I had a sick session last night and almost closed my ghp6.

Its just a lot going on with the baby coming soon and the new job. Been a bit stressed and unfocused is all. Adjusting was just taking a toll. I've actually been feeling a bit better so might start posting my workouts back sooner than anticipated.

Bending will always be done in the beginning from now on until I cert the Red. Going for 2 days a week at the moment. Getting the nails wrapped perfectly tight takes a loooooooong time but is well worth it. MY current wraps are all torn up so I am waiting on 3 new pairs which will definitely help. For now I only care about advancing in bending and grippers. Everything else I am training towards my goals but not as much focus so as long as I stay around my current numbers I'll be happy. Once I cert the Red then I'll go back to bending after my workouts.

My focus right now in order goes as follows

1. Red Nail Cert

2. Bastard Cert

3. MM0 Cert.

If I only get to do Bending, Squats and grippers each week then it will be OK as these are the only things I really need to progress for these three.

The Bending Puzzle is starting to come together. Got a great strategy moving forward now that works for me and all I have to do is execute it each time. That Cert should be a done deal pretty soon.
