Magnus
Been screwing around here and there in the gym. Have finals coming up so I've been busy with that. Did managed to set a PR close-grip bench of 375 tonight. Felt like I had more in the tank strength-wise but my shoulders still feel sore from benching Monday and standing OHP yesterday.
Magnus
Been training, just not posting. Highlights from the past week: Bench: 350x5x5 - PR for 5x5 Weighted pullups (BW = 277): +40lbx8x6 Deads: 515x2x3 - kind of a PR of some sort, I guess. Deads have long been my tempermental lift. Zercher squats: 235x5x5 - these suck. Limiting factor here is discomfort in the elbows. On the very unimportant side of things, I've been experimenting with doing very wide-grip barbell curls after weighted pullups. Middle fingers on the rings, light weight (85lb), strict form and high reps (15-20). It's been a few weeks and they're definitely adding some fullness to the inner head. Magnus
Deads: 375x6x4 I was going to go heavier tonight, but once I started to my left spinal erector started to feel weird (probably from badass cramp I got in it while benching yesterday). Decided to drop and do some explosive sets for volume. Threw in some upright rows for lulz.
Magnus
From yesterday Pull-ups, bw= 277: +45lb x 6 x 6, slightly wider than shoulder width BW x 3 x 8, wide grip Wide grip barbell curls, middle finger on rings: 90 x 2 x 15 90 x 2 x 10 Cable pull-overs: 60 x 3 x 25
Magnus
Deads: 405x6x4 I like the way this 6x4 thing feels for deads so I'm sticking with it for a few weeks. Short-ROM upright rows: A variation of URs that I made up. I only pull up to my sternum and concentrate on squeezing my shoulder blades together. Really feel these in the rear delts, rhomboids and traps. 225x4x10, shoulder width grip 135x3x10, middle fingers on rings 80x3x10, dumbbell, pulling up to my obliques
Royz
Zercher squats: 235x5x5 - these suck. Limiting factor here is discomfort in the elbows. Just wrap a towel around the barbell. You get used to the pressure on the arms really fast in my experience.
Magnus
^ I'll give that a shot. I tried using fatgrips but they put the CG of the bar way too far away from me. Bench: 350x5 355x5 - Rep PR 350x4 350x4 350x4 315x3 - paused reps, close-grip Kinda pissed that I didn't get 5x5, but two weeks ago I only got 345x4x4 so I won't complain too much. Did some rope pull-downs after that. Wide-grip barbell curls: 65x1x15 95x3x15 Edited July 19, 2015 by Magnus

Magnus
Thanks, Eric. The plan right now is to wait until I can hit 365x5x5 and then attempt 440 Also an edit to my previous post. Every 350x4 should actually be 355x4 Edited July 19, 2015 by Magnus

Magnus
Thanks gents. Not gonna say it's responsible for my bench climbing, but it certainly hasn't hurt anything.
Magnus
Started and finished a long overdue project last night and made a sandbag. Got a duffel bag big enough to hold 200lb so if should keep me busy for a while. Today was my first workout with it. Decided to try Zercher squats with it first: 100lbx2x20 - ATG deep This really highlighted how imbalanced I am. From the waist up it felt like I was holding a pillow. From my waste down it felt like I was going to die.
Magnus
Bench: Up to 355 x 4 Tried to do this on a 5hr old empty stomach.
