The first rep the box flew back when I went to load it (I would have had it if the box hadn't moved) and then the second time I just didn't get quite enough height while trying to load it. Pick and lap was fine both times though. Feel confident that I could hit a double or so on that 420 @ 48". Think I could probably load a 450+ stone to that 48". The 21.5" diameter feels real comfortable with the tacky on. First heavy stone series in a while.

schunajm
Good training Johnny boy. Thanks, Matt. Training has been going good, a little dinged up here and there, but otherwise I've been able to train around and/or through my injuries. Pressing is improving, still not where I want it to be, but it's coming up nonetheless. Again, good job at the Plymouth Rock contest. It looked like he had some pretty interesting events there. Are you still doing the bench press comp up in Barron around christmas?

Should be keeping this up to date more often now. Farmers....felt calluses tearing on the way back...pretty sure if I had shaved calluses I could have finished the 160 ft course...which is good for me I feel. Also, haven't front squatted that heavy in probably over 3 years or so. Felt pretty easy as well. Somewhere between 425 and 450 for a max at this point. Hopefully I can get that up to around 500. Grip on Farmer's was solid, no problem, but I was kind of shaky in my upper-back (not used to the load) on the last set. Yoke went well too. Didn't take any times, but the first 660 x 60 ft was fast and the 710 x 60 ft was fairly fast as well. Haven't done a straight up trap bar dead in years.... Pulled 530 x 4 last week conventional (fairly easy) so I knew I had a lot in the tank on the trap bar. Strangely though, 600 came up pretty easy, but my positioning was kind of messed up. Just didn't feel comfortable and wasn't able to get any more reps out. Edited September 24, 2011 by John Schuna
