poppy
Great news! I was going to try the coin hold with my #2 last night after KTA, but I could not even close it so I was a little disappointed. Tonight, I decided to warm-up and then go for the coin hold before I jumped into KTA. I was able to hold a penny between the handle for 11 seconds. I was actually pleasantly surprised. I figured 4 seconds would be good, but the close seems much easier now that i've been working with the #2.5! Thanks again for the encouragement. That was some fast progress. You're tied for #25 ARRRRGGGHHH! Maybe I should say I held it for 11.1 seconds! HAHAHA. Yeah, I was surprised! My hand was shaking terribly for the last 2 seconds or so. I think a lot of my progress has been from working with the #2.5 and also I'm feeling more comfortable with my sets. The #2 is still tough enough to where I had trouble setting it and getting the coin in, but I simply clamped the penny between my middle finger/pointer finger knuckles so I could still set the gripper and quickly turn my hand and grabn the penny from my hand. Also, a huge part of my job is to help people write better and i just made a huge run-on sentence. Don't tell my employer.

porkchop
I managed 9 seconds on my #3 tonight RH. I was hoping for 10 but the penny fell just before the clock ticked another second. Next time perhaps... pc
lukeamdman
It's been almost two months, so I gave it another go, but this time with my 168lb (3.3) #3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLMX_gVhOtI 13 seconds.
poppy
poppy: its obvious u are very excited about this challenge!very fast progress! i am very impressed! many congratalations! HAHA! Is it obvious?Once I can ge a gripper closed, I feel like I have a lot of strength to hold it closed. My weakness is mainly getting a gripper going through the sweep. Even though I'm not close on the #2.5, I can hold it shut with my right hand for about 2-3 seconds once I force it shut! Thans for the encuragement and even better closes from porkchp and luke! Great job!

Luke, what a great close, well done man. This is one of my fave coin hold videos, very clear and great hold. You even managed this with wife/kids making all that noise in the background, I reckon if you get "in the zone" you'll be good for 20 seconds

lukeamdman
Thanks guys! I felt really good yesterday. I got really close to closing the 3.54 BBE, so after that first attempt I thought I'd do the coin hold and break my old PR.

bencrush
If you're #3 was another 0.06, you'd swap out Ben for third! Excellent, he can have that spot! I don't do the coin holds very often (twice this year I think) but they're good stuff. I'll just film another video when I go down a few spots. Luke has earned his jumps up the ladder though, as has everyone else.

Gee, you're just zippin' right along there, aren't ya, Poppy It will be nice if this rate of progress continues. I doubt it, though. I was happy with the 16 seconds. I honestly feel that doing the really high volume for the better part of a week, taking a day off and then coming back does wonders for my strength. I was able to close the #2 with my left hand again as well. It makes me want to pick up my #2.5, but i'm waiting until next week to see where I am on it.
