Geo
Paul and I have decided to try to race each other to closing the Super Elite with a Mash Monster set. The rules are fairly simple. It has to be a Mash Monster set + The close has to be recorded on video for proof. This may take a while, and the race may turn into a marathon but none the less it should prove well worth the effort. OK heres the first workout post for me. Elite attempts 3 sets - v close RB300 - This is a strange gripper, The begining of the sweep is hard, then it eases up then it goes hard again! 3 sets - close Grip Machine 40 kg one hand - two reps warm up each hand Negatives 80kg - 2 sets 100kg 3 sets 80kg Two hands - 5 reps
Geo
Got a PR this workout. 3 Single closes with the left hand! - #3 I picked up my #3 on Sunday and gave it a go with the left hand and closed it then as well. Elite attempt - v close L hand #3 close Strap holds - Throwing these bad boys in the mix again as they did work well when I did them consistantly. Using the steel rule and a length of chain -extra tough. 2kg - 10 seconds Left hand #3 close straphold rh 3 kg - 9 seconds Left hand #3 close straphold rh 4kg - Fumble ! Bloody chain got caught on the chair Left hand #3 attempt - v close straphold rh 4kg arg fumbled again but eventually managed to get the rule inbetween the gripper handles and just broke the weights off the chair. Elite neg Super Elite Neg 3 sets Grip Machine - I am seriously liking this machine! Negs 80kg 100kg 3 sets 2 hands negative 140 kg this was too easy for both hands - held for 10 seconds then released 2 hands reps 100kg - 3 reps We exchanged contracts on our new house today so we are moving in at the end of the month! Woo Hoo! I will have my very own grip pit! -A Garage.
pdoire
Hi George, I am here!! This is the last KTA type workout...delayed a few days..due to pain in the old middle knuckle injury. Tried a few Elite closes yesterday but knuckles and wrists still sore. RB330N x 10 singles ....some closed some missed by 1/16 clamped @ parallel Final BBSE attempt this cycle missed by 3/16 (tied for best yet) @parallel 2 OC's filed GM 10 secs Notes: Assessment: Up to closing the Elite intermittently, 6 weeks work to get here. Need lots of backing down and healing, greasing the groove etc. Lets hands heal completely and try a version of Heaths "Closing the Big grippers"...lots more rest..will probably add some blob work. Geo
Cool Thanks Ben! I not going to let Paul win! It certainly adds some fire in your belly when you know that somone else is trying to do the same thing! Paul - A 330N I wouldnt mind one of those. Although I could just put my 330 in a clamp I suppose.
pdoire
Yes but the RB330 regular spread will still be tougher even in a clamp. Resting....zzzzzz

Geo
1mm away from a MM set with my Elite. It got to when you have to turn your hand to see if it is closed and I could just see a crack of light inbetween the handles. He He I like getting stronger! Geo
Yes but the RB330 regular spread will still be tougher even in a clamp.Resting....zzzzzz Yes you are right - because of the energy stored in the spring from the begining of the sweep. Geo
Arg! Moving house! I forgot what its like! Boxes are piled everwhere. Its like an assault course to get to my grippers and grip machine! Training very hard on my bench at the moment for a comp at begining of October. I hit 200kg for a double on Friday which was a lot of fun. Grip seems to be a bit weak these last two days or so.
