acorn
Looks like your bending is coming along, keep up the good work. I found that the 3/8" aluminum was a good stepping stone after the 3/16 sq to the 1/4" cold roll. I got some of that 1/4 HR at home depot too recently and it is hard too. An IM yellow and potentially even a blue is easier than the stuff I got at 7". - Aaron
don chi
Thanks Aaron, where did you get the 3/8 aluminum? Is that a round or square rod? I'm not really too familiar how aluminum comes. Thanks again for the input buddy, never thought of that as a tweener! 6/7/06 Wednesday Grippers Right hand 10 singles w/ #1 4 forced negs w/ BBSM 1 OC w/ #2 - missed a second attempt 3 OC's on a #1 Left hand 10 singles w/ #1 5 negs w/ #2 5 negs w/ #1 Wrist Curls 3x12x70 Reverse Wrist Curls 3x14x30 Perserverance is the key!!! I'm getting fed up with my lack of progress with these damn grippers. Then I see how some really strong dudes have been stuck on a certain gripper for a long while and it gives me some hope. I think closing the #1 and #2 really spoiled me into thinking I was going to keep up the pace. Now is when I need to step it up not give up. don chi
6/9/06 Friday 2" Pinch Block 25 lbs. passed 50x from hand to hand 35 lbs. passed 50x from hand to hand 45 lbs. passed 16x from hand to hand Bending 1 - 4 3/4" x 3/16" round 1 - 6" x 3/16" square 1 - 7" x 1/4" round CRS kinked to 45 degrees 1 - 5" x 3/16" square, barely kinked Kinking the 1/4" round was huge for me. A few weeks ago it was like trying to bend a piece of I beam. It was extremely taxing!!! I couldn't even come close to bending the square after that. My arms were burning from the elbow down, but it felt great. I want to bend that baby by the end of August. Gonna have to work some volume on the square rod for a bit. don chi
6/11/06 Sunday Grippers Right hand 1x5x #1 3 negs W/ BBSM - initial squeeze to about 1/4" Strapholds w/ #1 2x10 sec. x 5 lbs. third attempt - ruler slipped at 5 sec. Left hand 1x5x #1 3 negs w/ #2 3x10 sec. OC w/ #1 Wrist Curls 3x13x70 Reverse Wrist Curls 3x15x30 Did light sets of benches and military presses to warm up. I believe I may have gotten the #2 closed with my left hand. It was so close that I even wrote down PR in my notebook at first. It slammed down and stopped dead, it just felt different. I couldn't visually tell if it was or not from my angle. My second attempt was only to 1/4" so I'm calling it a no go! Had to scratch that baby out of my records, don't want any doubt. When I do it convincingly it is really going to mean a lot to me. Making steady progress on my wrist curls and reverse wrist curls.
don chi
6/13/06 Tuesday Thick Bar Hammer Curls 1x10x10 3x10x15 Thick Bar Deads 100 lbs. - each hand 125 lbs. - right, missed left 135lbs. - about 12" w/ right 115 lbs. - about 6" w/ left Did some light leg extensions, leg curls, calf raises, and toe raises. Went real light, almost a rehab type of weight since I haven't worked on my legs in quite a while. Had x rays taken of my hip and back today which didn't show anything. I'm getting an MRI of my right hip scheduled tomorrow. The anti-inflammatory is working great! I really should weigh my thick DB because those weights sound real lame. don chi
Thanx Toe, I sure am trying!! 6/17/06 Saturday Bench Press 1x12x75 1x10x95 2x8x125 1x5x125 Military Press 1x12x35 1x10x45 1x8x50 2x8x45 Tricep Press 4x12x30 I fell way off my schedule with my bad leg. No excuse for the rest of my body though. Went through the workout with a much quicker pace with a lot less rest. Weights and reps were down considerably but I want a little better conditioning. Every couple of weeks I'll do a light week.

don chi
Thanks for the good words Wes. 6/21/06 Wednesday Bending 1 - 5"x 3/16 round, arms straight for warm up 1 - 5 x 3/16 square Missed a pre kinked 7 x 1/4 round horribly, didn't budge one damn bit!!!! Bent two 7 x 3/16 round back and forth until they snapped (one at a time). Did some light leg work to keep the blood flowing. The bending was a little disappointing because I thought for sure I'd get that 1/4 stock. Highly disheartening was the fact it didn't move a bit, oh well. Came close to max grippers with each hand, just a bit more to go. Plate curls were new as I never really tried them before. They're not very strong so hopefully there's a lot of room for improvement. Both wrist curls are steadily improving.

don chi
Thanks for the comments, Tim. I was pretty spent by this point. Did some more light leg work, getting a little stronger. Get the results for my MRI early this week. Hope it's good news! don chi
6/28/06 Wednesday Well this workout sucked! Had nothing on my grippers at all. The #1 felt stiff even. Managed to get the #2 to parallel yay!! Being off my feet and out of work makes me feel like a damn slug and I still have a week and a half to go. Low activity is terrible how can anybody do this.
