dave Posted February 5, 2006 Share Posted February 5, 2006 great contest, very well put on. chad woodall kicked all forms of ass. and did some crazy blob liftin after the contest. chad picked up the original blob brought down by richard sorin, and also did it by the face!!!!! kant rember the placeins for positive so ill wait till somebody who is sure posts them. thanks agian for the tarheel guys for puttin on a great contest! The NC boys out did theirselves with a smoothly run contest and first class hosptality all the way. Man I love this sport and it's people! Chad was ON and is now the BLOB man - even Richards jaw dropped when he picked up the original blob by the face. And fellows - ole Richard is not over the hill quite yet either - I watched him do some pretty wild stuff just playing around after the event. I met a bunch of great guys, learned a LOT and had a blast. Chad did an awesome job! No doubt why he placed where he did. The after contest feats by all were just as entertaining as the contest. A big thanks to Anson and his wife for letting Chris and I crash At their place, for leting us eat their foodand leting us bend up some of his stock. We had fun that night. We really enjoyed ourselves, the events were challenging, and the company was first class. I had never seen many of those lifts before, only read about them here, man, they are tough! My hands are still aching and numb! Meatball had a good time, and I know we both appreciate everyone's support. Congrats Chad, it was also great to talk with you, hopefully I will run into you wearing a kilt one day. Because of the positive atmosphere I was able to get some feats I was unable to do before, (the blob many times off the ground and to a full stand once). I had only elevated it a few times in the past. Watching the guys play after the contest was great to see, many PR's were set, very impressive after all the events! Chris, it was great to meet you, I spoke with Jake late that night and he was pumped up when I said that we had competed together. Dad and I are going to make a vertical bar very soon, something I think Dad might be really good at. (by the way, that events hurts pretty bad.) HAMMERHEAD Posted February 6, 2006 Share Posted February 6, 2006 It was a great event full of great strong people. Chad did a great job and watching him lift the origional Blob by the face was amazing! Tommy pulled 220lbs in the 2 hand pinch after his 4 attempts were over. Nick did very well and he can toss those kettlebells around! Chris was repping that 12lb sledge like it was nothing. Dave did a great job and I want to thank him again for letting me and Tommy crash at his place. Jonathan did very well and is a well rounded grip guy. Both he and Anson made great scrolls for trophys out of flat steel. Anson is very strong and suprised me a couple times pulling lifts that seemed outta reach. Bert did very well especially since he'd never tried a few of the lifts. Bert got a 10lb hammer and had never tried levering before. Meatball did great and is super strong for 16. All the competetors did very well and did their best. It was an honor meeting Mr. Sorin. He's a big stong guy and was manhandling the blobs. He also cleaned the heavy dumbell that was in the grip medley event. He said he didn't mean to clean it, it was just a lot lighter than he expected!
