FrankyBoy
07/31/2005 Contest Simulation day Grippers 2.4 rated narrow SM lefty (missed a real SM by just 1/16") 3.1 rated IM #3 righty (didn't max out here due to a slightly inflammed tendon in my elbow, need some rest here) Pinch 80kg on the euro setup, that thing is still too slick. vbar 120kg lefty (and a real nice tore at the usual place but much much deeper) 122.5kg righty OHL 190 lefty 210 righty seems low but I'm really satisfied cause I shot for 212.5kg and 225kg as new PRS and they were soo close. At the euros that should be good lifts. Bending Full Bend event (DO) Bent a Red in under 2 mins to under 2" outer legs. Kink Event (DU) Suprised myself a lot today I bend 8mm HRS bar (german edition) down to 5" quite easily. Tried the hard euro stock and bent the 7.5" version easy too. Then I went for a Red DU and got a kink into that one(like 6mm at one end when placed on a table.)

Blarg
That contest simulation day is a cool idea. You'll be factoring fatigue and soreness in that way. Good luck!

FrankyBoy
Back at home. Traps and legs are soooo sore. Hands are under fire. Grippers I got my optimum. Missed even the 3.38 just paper-thin in my last attempt with my right. My lefty did a 2.69, that was my goal and it was quite hard to get, probably the biggest success in the contest for me. Lifted 85kg in the 2-hand pinch, 86kg would have been silver. So I got 4th since Victor is lighter than me. At least a new german record. Lifted 120kg in the vbar first attempt. 2nd was 125, bar slipped and my hand was torn crazily (Mobster made a nice colorful picture of it). Righty I got 125. That was german record in total also, but Burki outperformed my by 2.5kg in his last lift only some minutes later. One hand lift went better than expected, I got 225 + 250, meaning german record again. I bent the 6" x 8mmHRS, which was silver, David bent the same and is lighter. Despite various arguments not to do it I couldn't resist and bent a Red in the full bend event. 30 secs (incl. changing of wraps, to get it under 2" outer legs), perfect U, without much effort. I never really trained with tea towels. Actually I seriously started two days before the comp to get a feeling with it and did the 6" version of the stock Arne sent me. Overall 5th is better than expected, I must improve my crappy vbar to do better overall.

Burkhard got the VBar German record. Congrats Frank and Burkhard for the new PRs and a great competition Thorsten
