This log will display my preparation towards the European Grip Championship in august.

My goals are (in paranthesis my current standing)

Grippers

MM2 dud right, BBSM left (MM1 dud and Cert SM)

2-hand Pinch

100kg (87kg)

vbar

283kg (248kg)

OHL

440kg (380kg)

Bending: one motion DU Kink to 60°

7.5" x 8mm HRS using the stock I received from Arne using a tea towel only (-)

To operate with known values I'm formulating a 2nd goal here:

DUing a G8 with leather pads to 60° (G5 to 45°)

Analyzed again Johans vid from the last europeans.

Tried his style and it didn't go that bad.

I already had tried his style earlier but felt a bit uncomfortable due to the wrist position. Yesterday that wasn't that strange any more. Perhaps a result from my bending workouts.

Both left and right handed:

1x40

1x60

1x80

1x100

1x110

1x115

1x117.5

1x120

1x122.5 (I missed that one twice with my right before I finally got it)

0x125kg (two misses for both hands)

Total: 2 x 124 = 248kg

06/03/05 Pinch and OHL

2-hand pinch with gloves for holds:

71.5kg x 8s

74kg x 2

2x71.5kg x 0s

66,5 x 5s

OHL

no regular session

4x110kg

I stopped here. Actually I wanted to get 15x110kg. But my skin is still sore from the new vbar test yesterday. Furthermore it felt like I strained my right middle finger a bit so I didn't risk to get injured there.

I will try the OHL again either tomorrow or on sunday.

06/04/05 Active Rest / Light Extensor work

Hot water bath

2x80x IM White Rubber Band

Forearm Extensors

2x20x7kg Reverse DB Wrist Curls

Wrist Extensors/Flexors/Pronators and Supinators

1x10x1,25kg Sledge Rotations using the LGC vbar

Hot & Cold Water Bath

1x3min x hot water

1x3min x cold water

Massage of forearm muscles

1x3min with an ethereal oil

06/06/05 Active Recovery

Hands are sore, bending just with tea towel are extemely stressful for the palms.

3x(Hot water bath & cold showering afterwards) for hands and forearms

1 x 60 x IM White rubber bands

1 x 60 x IM Green rubber bands

1 x 30 x IM Yellow rubber bands

2x (2mins Powerballing at 3-4K RPM clockwise and counter clock wise)

1 x 100 x IM White bands

1 x 60 x IM Green bands

1 x 80 x IM White

1xx (Hot water bath & cold showering afterwards) for hands and forearms

Massage of hands and forearm muscles

1x2min with an ethereal oil, feels very good

06/06/05 Active Recovery

Hands are sore, bending just with tea towel are extemely stressful for the palms.

What does not kill you will make you stronger. I have always used a rather thin towel. My hands hurt after each bending session for a couple of hours. Pain disappeared after a few months.

06/07/05 Recovery

My girl friend bought a new oil made of Arnika flowers and gave me a 5 minutes per side massage for hands and forearms.

Feels great.

Later I'll do a 2-hand pinch session.

06/08/05 Pinch

Well actually I wanted to do pinch.

Did singles bare handed.

First I measured the apparatus and saw that the pinch plates weren't exactly centered. :flame

I centered them and started:

1x31,5kg

1x61,5kg

1x81,5kg

0x86,5kg :blink

Disappointed as I was I did some DO bending instead and got two new PRs:

6 1/4" Red and 6" FBBC bar.

David, no I didn't any gripper work yet since my right hand still feels strange after the last DU bending session. I hope to be alright at your contest.

06/10/05 Bending

During a meeting with ouzo12 I did some DU bends like

1x1/4"x5.5" round

1xsoft 7mm common nail

1xhard 7mm common nail

besides this I only did DO bending.

Haha, wasted session today.

I did a massage this morning on my thumb pads using some oil.

The afternoon I tried to work with the vbar. :trout

1x20kg LR

1x40kg LR

1x80kg LR

1x100kg LR

1x110kg L

2x0x110kg R

0x115kg L

with the higher weights and the increasing pressure on the thumb pad, the vbar got sliipery.

Remember: oil doesn't help on the vbar.

Extensors

Revers Dumbbell Wrist Curls

L : 1x15x8kg, 1x15x8kg, 1x17x8k

R : 1x20x8kg, 1x20x8kg, 1x22x8k

IM Rubber Bands
