Rick Walker
Unexpected stone session with Pexter and SHRUG:first time with some tacky - to a platform: 170#, 263#, 297#, 313# This stone stuff is pretty addictive. Is it safe to say we can expect you to be picking a strongman contest and competing soon Brett? If you can find the time, we can train for the NASS October 23rd Fall Challenge in MD. Would be a hell of a time man! Let me know. Rick Walker

BJones
I still can't tell the whole story Clay - just to traumatic No - I stopped by to see James and Pexter and they were getting ready to lift stones and I just had to join in. I feel pretty good today Brett
SHRUG
Had an awesome time, all 3 of us are pretty new to the stones. It was my second training session with them, I think it was Brett's second as well, and it was John's third. I got all of my stones up to my 405lber very easy, the 339 felt extremely light. I got the 405lber off the ground twice but did not get it loaded, I will get it very soon. John was very close on the 405lber but did not get it. I am addicted to stones and I am gonna shift my focus to strongman now 100%, after a taste of a little serious training I am on to much bigger and better things. Gonna train regularly with Brett, Rick, and hopefully Big Steve and Jedd.
BJones
A little gripping and bending yesterday 8/17 35# blob x 2, 38# blob x 1, 40# blob 2L, 1R, 35# blob x 2 Bending - using a good bit of double underhand (DU) DU 60d x 3, G5 x 1, 5.5"G5 x 1, G8 x kinked - finished overhand, 7"RED x 1 overhand, DU G5 x 2, 60d x 5 Wrists are much stroger now - no wrist pain from using the double underhand - I put as good or better kink in the G8 as I did before I switched to overhand. We will see how far I can go with the DU. Brett
BJones
Back a Rick's today - Plate pinching - pulled 5-10's x 5 with my left hand - failed to pull it even once with my right??? Some days are just like that I guess. Did a little short bar bending - 60dx1, G5x2, G8 x 1 all double underhand (until I had to finish a G8 overhand after kinking it underhand) Long bar bending - 14" spike x 1, 12" high carbon spike x 3 The long bar bending is a different beast - loads of fun and tiring (I was sweating up a storm bending these) Then we hit the food and beer - Brett
SHRUG
Did 7 12"X3/8" high carbon spikes, was good for many more. Attempted a 10.5"X3/8" high carbon spike and was very close, I would have had it fresh. Now I must wear the thing around my neck till I can bend 10"X3/8" high carbon spikes for reps and am ready to go to 8" ones. I can't wait till I am slaying the 8" ones with ease. BJones
To quote Rick W. - I got stoned today! A day of lifting my new stone! Rick made me a 215 or so pound stone so I took it for a spin today. Two arm kettlebell swings 40kg x 20 Windmill 40kg x 2 r+L 215#stone (ground to chest) x 2,2,2,2,2,2 two arm KB swings 40kg x 20 Felt good - it would appear that the tweak from last week is gone from my low back - but still going to take care of it for now - don't want any more low back trouble. Fun training! Brett

BJones
Thanks Jason - the credit card set will take me some time to reach but the grippers will be a new challenge. Brett Edited August 30, 2004 by BJones
