Spent most of the late afternoon & early evening cleaning out my under house storage. I’m thinking of making myself a grip cave. The only issue I have with my garage is the limited space to do any exercise I have to move stuff around. I thought if I sort out a grip den then I can leave stuff just laying around with any problems like falling over kit . Another reason is I can fill the new space with grip kit lol. I’ll get some pics tomorrow.

Farmers holds:

15k x 10 secs, 54k x 10 secs, 90k x 60secs 

Cone style vert bar( anvil simulator):

20k x 2,40k x 2,45k x 1, 50k x 1,55k x 1,60k x 1, 65k x 1 , 67.5k x 1, 70k x 1,75k x 1 lh rh broke floor, 85k x f , 82.5k x 1, 85k x 1 lh

Just a shortish sess to try & get a couple of comp events practiced. Feeling nothing like it as I participated in 24hr rollathon at my Bjj gym overnight last night. I was feeling a bit knackered so just decide 1 max set on farmers hold would hopefully be enough . Surprised with 60 secs as that was what I was hoping for in the comp. 
Didn’t  have much of a clue as to where I was at with the cone lift. Obviously started a bit low but have taken a note & so have a better starting point for next sess. 
All in all a half decent sess. Got the work done & got out. 
 

Got a couple of goodies in the post today .

Mon 22/4/24

Axke 40k x 3,60k x 2, 65k 5 x 2

Pinch Block 10k x 1, 15k x 1, 17.5k x1, 18.75k x 1, 20k x 1, 21k x 1 lh broke floor rh x 1, 22k x 1 rh, 22k x 1 rh l, 23 x 1 rh, 24k x 1 rh. Worked out at 27.15k on the scales. 
 

COC trainer 3 lh / rh 

Quick sess after work. Got in a couple of events from comp. 

Axke is tricky at the min as my arthritis in my rh is giving me grief. Every time I put the axle down it hurts my hand. Minor set back I reckon.

Pinch Block is slowly improving. Got base numbers so time to right a proper plan.

COC Trainer is awful. I struggle even with the trainer . I am going to put some work in on grippers as I want to eventually close a 3 , a life time away. 
 

Going to do my weights in the morning. As I say just a quick sess as I got roped in to gardening duties. 
Actually enjoying grip training . Can’t wait to learn enough to have a bit of a clue lol.

Inc Bench Seal Rows / Band Pull Aparts

12.5k x 8, 32,5k x 8,8,8/5 x 10 pull aparts

Floor Press/ Wrist Towel Rotations

45k x 5,65k x 5, 75k x 5,5,5/ wrist rotations 4k x 10 either way

Band Leg Curl / Gi sleeve Iso Holds

10 x 3 / 20 secs x 3 each hand different grips

Split Squat/Db Hammer Curls

3 x 6 / 22k 3x 6

DB Curls/ Plate Hub Pinch 

7k x 25 / 5k x f , 2.5k x 1 x 5 

Early sess before work. Nothing too major as still a beat up from a long wkend on the mats. Pretty much got all the base numbers I need to sort a proper programme out now. 
All felt good . Time to keep volume down & up intensity. I couldn’t believe how hard the job pinch was lol.

Accidentally ordered a 60mm axle yesterday.Thought it might be here by the wkend by it arrived today. Super efficient service from Strength Shop . Looking forward to having a spin on this. Well I was looking at it & thought I’d see what carriage was. Entered my details & normally it gives you a button to press but it just went straight through. Was going to buy one at some stage so it just rushed the process. 
Vert happy with it .

Hub worked up to 17.5k plate weight on rh. 

Forgot to write reps & sets down as I was tidying up The Zoo. 
Finally getting the place in shape. A few more bits coming & then I can sit back & enjoy my kit. Thinking I might even out in a little comp nxt yr.

Backwards sled drag 17.5k x 5 mins

Banded knee bends blue band 3 x 10

Safety Bar Squats 

Bar x 5 , 60k x 3, 80k x 2, 100k x 3, 120k x 2, 150k x 2 Band face pull 5 x 10

Bulg Split Squat 

7k x 5, 12k x 5, 22k x 5 x 2  Band pull aparts 5 x 10

KB leg ext 4k x 8, 8k x 8 x 2, 12k x 8

Inc DB bench 22k x 12 x 3 Rotator Block 2k x 8 x 3 

50mm Roller handle 1 arm cable rows 10k x 3 ( way too light) 20k x 12 eh 25k x 12 eh 

Cable tri press down 20k x 15 x 3 

Plate Hub Pinch 2.5k x 2, 3.5k x 2, 4K x 1, 5k x F .

Band assisted plate hub pinch 3.5k x 2, 4K x 2, 5k x 2 

Sled drags hit the hips.

Squats felt heavy & a touch high.

Bulg felt hard but happy with weight.

KB leg ext felt different. Hit the spot tho.

Inc Db bench just trying to be a Swoldier.

Roller 1arm rows were pretty good. Nice feel in the lat.

Cable press downs only light but target tri nicely.

Plate hub pinch has become a bit of a quest for me. I want to be able to pinch a 20k plate. Still shocking at them . Added the band as I remember that being a way to bridge between weights & Phatmuscle used to bang on about them lol.

All in all a half decent sess. Got some work done & enjoyed it.

Solid session, I love dragging the sled backwards, I start or finish every lifting session with them, and also do them on “rest” days (I am completely incapable of resting)

i like the idea of KB leg extensions , was that your first time trying them? I’ll have to give that a try

I do the tyre drag every time I train the evening. I think it has helped my busted knees a fair bit. 
 

I have done Kb leg ext before but not for ages . I’m struggling to get the gym in a member of to use the leg kit so I thought I’d just improvise. They hit in a wierd way. Give a go & see what you think . Let me know.

Struggled with any interest tonight so started with axle deads. Managed to get a bit of interest but nowhere near where I needed to be. Got it done & live to fight another day. Watched the grip show with Jaland Worley the other day & found his way of training pretty interesting & I am going to lean towards his ideas. 
Put another mat down in the garage as my rubber crumb mats are proving very hard to clean the chalk out of 😬hopefully make life a bit easier.
