Fat Gripz Deadhang & Pull-up Community Maxes

Recommended Posts

This thread is dedicated for anyone to share their most recent PRs in either the deadhang (for max time) or pull-ups (for max reps unbroken) using Fat Gripz or the equivalent.

Here's my latest PR in the blue Fat Gripz deadhang w/ 35sec @200lbs BW as well as my daughter's (7yrs) very first pull-up for inspiration!

Great work man. I like to sometimes train dead hangs. I like the idea for this thread. The main forum might have been better for response's though mind as this is in workout logs.

That's very impressive for your daughter as well. Awesome.

I don't use can't gripz but recently did a 32 second hang with an extra 200lbs on a 2" thick bar. That was fun

I also like single arm by using a towel or thick rope. 35 sec P.R.

Thanks, they are fun to train sometimes. If I trained them regular I'd have better numbers, I just like to throw them in every so often. I'm more into weight pullup variations but use ropes, towels or a thick bar to make it harder and more grip heavy.

Fat gripz move around a lot I feel with lots of extra heavy weight so I prefer using the 2" thick bar my gym has. I'm lucky the gym has one.

Thanks, dead hangs are fun.

Especially tough variations with thick bars or towels. Single arm rope dead hangs are probably the toughest for me.

I don't train Dead hangs often but all my weighted pullup variations build the strength for it. My favourite exercise is weighted rope pullups. I've recently started training an inverted grip on them and they are very difficult compared to a normal grip on ropes.

inverted grip - don't thing I've ever seen that done - sounds painful LOL

Yes painful is the word lol. The pressure on the ring and pinkie fingers are insane on a rope.

with these you use more brachioradialis to pull up I feel than biceps or brachialis. These are way more wrist heavy. A towel tough move. I can do an extra 100lb on a normal rope grip but have only went 44lb X 3 on these so far as they are much tougher.

I feel they really build your pinkie and ring finger strength. After these I get a pump in my Hypothenar/pinkie pad muscles.

Thanks dude and, yes, I'm aiming to get over one minute before I bump up to the Orange Fat Gripz to work up to a minute again.
