Rick Walker
It is either the coffee of endorphines talking this afternoon (just got off a killer mountain bike ride!) but I was thinking during the jumps, mud, and thorns of what I want to accomplish with my time on earth. Meaning-what are my Ultimate goals-things I have to do before I pass on. Here is what I came up with: -Total ELITE -Get ranked in the top 10 by NASS in the lightweights -close the #4 -lift the MB -300 on the RT -Pinch 2-45s -bend the red nail -complete a triathalon (not an Ironman-just a triathalon of respectable length) -complete a 24-hour mountain bike race -complete a century ride -snatch my 120 pound anvil and stick it with authority -tear a tennis ball -place a 400 pound stone -farmers walk 400 an arm -clean and press 300 -snatch 200 -complete a marathon -lift all of the famous stones in Scotland I cant think of any more physical goals. How about you guys?? Rick Walker

SilentDude
I really don't set alot of goals for myself, I always want to improve. I do have goals for a certian length of time, but whwne I meet the goals I never want to stop. I want to keep improving. I'll tell you my main goals though, I want to hit them at least before I Die. New Record in the Backlift Bench 950 Squat 1400 Deadlift 1000 Clean 450 Clean the the Inch with Both Arms Close The #4, and maybe attempt to close the WT no set Close a #3 gripper in both hands Maybe a no set 2 finger close with the #3 Complete 10 one handed pull-ups Pinch the blob with added Weight Bend a Red Nail Lever a 20 lb hammer with both arms Pinch 2 45's with added weight Pinch 3 35's (which I don't even know if its possible with my hands, 7 1/4 inchs) Heres one of my faverite quotes. "There is no limits. Just the ones you set for yourself. People call them goals and they turn into limits when you let yourself reach them. You need to keep adjusting. Keep working. Don't let yourself quit. Don't trick yourself into thinking you are done working." -Joe Kinney
amaury
Lever a 20 lb hammer with both arms This one is incredibly piece of cake compared to the others... Maybe it is a typo and you meant 200lbs ?? Just kidding... Go for it dude !

3Crusher
Many have listed bending the Red Nail as a goal. Who here has actually tried one? If so, how well have you done with it WITHOUT bracing it against your body? For those who have not tried, are you ready for some pain? Sean Dockery
I've been tinkerin with the idea of snatching the Inch. Another goal is clean and pressing something close to the Apollon's Axle (2" nonrevolving bar fixed large diameter wheels). Lifting some of the Scottish manhood stones would be sweet (I just gotta figure out how to get over there). That oughta keep me busy

Sybersnott
There are SO many to think about... really I'd just be happy if I could continue to add weight to all my lifts, progress as much as I possibly can, and still be able to walk away with two good legs. And I am very fortunate to have all of you supporting me in my endeavors. All of you give me strength, the encouragement I get from this forum is phenomenal, and for that I count my blessings. I truely thank all of you.

amaury
Many have listed bending the Red Nail as a goal. Who here has actually tried one? If so, how well have you done with it WITHOUT bracing it against your body? For those who have not tried, are you ready for some pain? No i haven't tried the Red yet but i tried 5/16" steel some monthes ago. Didn't manage to put a dent in it My bending strength has improved since then and i can now bend 4.5/16" nails (cut to the length of the red nail). I really don't think that pain is the limiting factor, strength obviously is. In fact when i began bending, even the green nails were painful ! Now 1/4" steel is not painful anymore (here i'm not talking about grade 5 nails but regular nails of course !). I use the same technique as Terminator and The Swiss to bend (kind of hand over hand technique where the nail bends at the fulcrum of the thumb) and it may be more painful than the Spike or Slim Farman techniques... ? What technique do you use to bend Steve (3Crusher) ? Amaury.
3Crusher
amaury- I use the style of bending that Pat uses. I am still a newbie at this stuff, and trying to improve each time I bend. Steve

bencrush
Become the lightest man ever to continental and jerk the Apollon's Wheels. I believe that Schemansky was @215 pounds when he did it. Guest PineAway
Life goals... GRIP wise- #4 Bending beyond a 60d Lift the inch with both hands 250 on the RT Oh theres others of course, but those are my big ones. Somewhere in there I'd also like to create my own grip feat. Sports wise- Compete in amateur boxing Compete in amateur kick boxing And maybe some day, compete in Mixed Martial Arts (No Holds Barred) fighting. Other- Find and marry that special someone Have 2-3 kids and raise them the best that I can. Get rich and retired before 40 :stuart (yea right) There would be weight lifting goals, but recently I've dropped most of my weight lifting and focused on my martial arts (boxing, Muay Thai, and Jiu Jitsu). While strength is important, I dont want any extra muscle slowing me down. It'd be nice to get real strong and have deadly knockout power, but, I'd rather throw out fast and precise combinations rather than powerful, sluggish and slow right hands. Guest Harlan Jacobs
I understand your thinking , but also keep in mind that a punch is nothing more than a muscle contraction. No , you don't want a 60" chest and a 20" arm. But there are some great strikers that are well built.Vitor Belfor, comes to mind. And you know no matter how great of stiker you are, the fight will in up on the ground. I guess I don't need to tell you that being you are already do some rolling. But don't give up your weight training. Heck, Jerry Bolander is a member of the board now. See what he thinks.
