Bench felt pretty solid today (still in commercial gym set-up).  I thought about going for the 120s for a few reps, but passed after having some difficulty getting the 110s stabilized on the set-up.

Deadlifting every week has started to take it's toll, it seems.  When I decided to (re)chase a 500lb. raw deadlift again, after having done it years back, I reprogrammed my pulling to include weekly sessions, as opposed to bi-weekly.  It worked well, but it seems the volume, weight, and my age are starting to cause some problems with pain and nagging injuries.  Going forward, I think I will continue to alternate conventional and sumo pulls as I have done the past few years, but include one week off each month, while rotating the styles prior to each break.

FINALLY ... I was able to squat in my new gym.  :D  I set up my half-rack and was able to get a decent session in.  Things didn't feel great (a little awkward and too shadowy) but it was awesome to not have to squat in the gym!!!

My first attempt at the 120 was pretty slow and missed by about a mm.  I got a better set on the second attempt and was able to slam it.  Overall, my gripper #s are down by about 10lb. RGC, from where they were a year ago after RRBT and KTA.  I definitely want to get back into one of those programs again, with the singular goal being a MM0 cert.  To get back to that level, I need one of those programs and the volume.

Everything felt strong today.  I typically don't squat anything over 365 raw without wraps (two bad knees) but 385 was decent today, without wraps.  The 5th rep on the 240N gripper barely touched, and felt like a current PR.  I've been thinking about starting KTA up again, but want to wait until the meet is done (if I'm able to do it).

My first attempt at 190 overhead was pretty weak.  I regrouped and hit it pretty good, but stalled about 7/8 of the way up.  Just couldn't lock it out.  (These are strict presses too ... no momentum.)

KTA - P1/D1


Squats felt pretty good today, but I had to make a decision about the meet, and it doesn't look like it's going to be able to happen.  My numbers are pretty solid raw right now, but with family-stuff and money, it's just not going to be possible.  This decision gives me the opportunity to start-up KTA again, and hopefully make another serious run at the MM0.
