you are now pinching as much as me 1 handed.

Probably not! Lol. Normally, I put the "Euro" but didn't here. This was with the Euro at a slightly wider grip ... Got some more inserts from Jedd. I've tried pinching 35s and got a bump but haven't been able to get them up. I have the thicker Cap plates from G and G Fitness though. I'm hoping with dedicated work on the 1-hand Euro, to get 80 by the fall.

my left hand on the euro sunday got up to 70. and it was harddddd. weirdly enough I have done a bunch of different 2x35 lefty that weren't that bad. i might just be off my game.

any way, all your lifts are coming up. looks good.

Thanks man. Right now, 1HP feels a little better than 2 hand. But I haven't been doing it long enough to really know. It is a blast doing this stuff though!

I nearly had the top set with the Stub ... had it up, but lost it at the top. Rolling Thunder felt OK, but hands were hurting on axle. I bought a new 10lb. sledge ... hoping to work up to levers with it.

The ATB felt HEAVY today! I haven't spent much time with it lately, but remember not having too much trouble with 210-215 these past few months. Today, I had to reset my grip several times before getting it. By the time I got around to axle, my fingers were screaming from the DU bends, so I didn't attempt anything much more.

Do you have any competitions on the horizon?

I'm definitely doing the NY Grip Throwdown, and hopefully King Kong this year. As far as powerlifting comps go, I might do a bench-only 100% RAW comp and hopefully a full-meet before the year's out.

I was pretty happy today to PR on the Hub ... been getting close for awhile, but haven't been able to stand up with it fully the past few months. Not too happy with 1HP today. I got the 70 up a few inches, but the grip never felt right.

The hardest thing about this week has been not doing any grip-stuff with my other workouts (in trying to "deload" for the comp this weekend). I came pretty close a few times to relenting, but was able to hold back. :)

Here are my goals for the New York Grip Throwdown II:

(Some of these I have exceeded in training, but not under unknown conditions)

Grippers - GHP 5 (118.9)

Ironmind Hub - 64.25

Rolling Thunder - 139.25

Sledge DL - not sure

Can't wait to compete!

if you have a chance to go past that ghp in terms of weight but, a different brand, go for it. the ghp's are wider and stiffer.

I will definitely keep that in mind! I think I am right around 120 with the 20mm block, so it should be close with the SMs.

Thanks bro! It was rough. LOL I left just after 5 and got back around 12:30. I kept moving the seat in different positions every 10 minutes ... A/C up full-blast and way too many Red Bulls.

Mike Sharkey was the first person to get movement on it.

Thanks for the shoe! If I had been wearing jeans I think I could have actually finished it lol.

Hands were feeling a little better today, so I thought I'd try a quick gripper session to work on my set (getting away from a "hands-only set.") Felt OK warming up, but completely messed up when I got up on the #2 and above. Might have to get some volume with a better set with easier grippers until it becomes automatic.

(quick bending session after comp.) ... forgot to list

Hey bud. I'm not sure if you have seen this, but its the absolute best video to watch to learn how to set a gripper.

Thanks man! I did watch it a year-or-so back, but kinda forgot about it. As I recall, it helped me a little with hand position the first time I saw it. I'm gonna watch it a few more times now and I bet I pick up on some different things (especially being at a different point with grippers now as opposed to then).

I am working on changing my gripper set up a little ... getting away from a hand-set into more of an upper-body set. As such, things are feeling completely off, with me fumbling around with angles and positioning. I have a lot of work to do it seems if I am going to be able to successfully change my set. :yikes
