Shoggoth
What happened with the spotter chain? Did it start to weigh down one or both sides on the way up? I ended up touching it on one side at the bottom so it had the bar all out of its groove for the ride back up.
bwwm
I have to say I have always been eye'ing your spotter chains as an enhancement to my rig. I have the 'bail out bars', but they don't fit well in the holes they drilled at the bottom, so it's always a fight to adjust them. Seems the chains would super fast.
MattM
Bench safety height is annoyingly hard to set, because the depth of the bar will change with added even if you touch your chest every rep! UGH
Shoggoth
As it was getting tougher I was sinking the bar a bit more for leg drive then it sent me all akimbo

Make sure you go with heavier chains. My first set I popped my coupling link when the ssb fell right from the top. That freaking hurt haha! Shoggoth
July 1, 2015 Afternoon Week 1. Decided to give yesterday's performance a little shaming. Needless to say after yesterday's benching and today's I'm good for a few days now. I don't even feel bad about missing my last rep haha! I still feel really tired even with a good sleep last night. I'll have to keep my eye on it. I don't want a deload dammit! Left out any tricep and chest assistance due to benching yesterday. Durrs
Did you lose a lot of gripper strength not doing them for so long?
Shoggoth
Did you lose a lot of gripper strength not doing them for so long? Not a lot I don't think. At my best I was only closing mid level 3's and I think I block set this 2.5 for 7 or 9 for one of David Hornes lists. I'm guessing I'd be good for 5 maybe now and possibly an easier 3. I haven't trained grip properly since Aaron's comp in spring 2013 and maybe only picked up the grippers for a one off, half a dozen times during the past couple of years. When I was arm wrestling I found grip training as we typically do it doesn't mesh. Especially when I've only got so much recovery and arm wrestling practice beats the hell outta me.
