Impressive pressing!

One of my current goals is a 200 pound strict press, which would be huge for me. I doubt I could have done 200 even when I was benching 350.

Thanks Eric! I'd like to get a bodyweight press this summer. Pretty sure it won't be strict but just getting 270 over my head will be a huge accomplishment.

Thanks Matt! Built a platform and put my extra rack outside last year. The ceiling in my basement is to low to do standing overhead work so it's seated presses all winter, standing all summer.

Before Supper

Week 4. I took a stim drink prior to today's workout and it effed me up. Been going a couple of months now without really taking anything zazzy. The buzz today had me bouncing off of the walls and I had a tough time staying focused. Weight and movements felt great but my brain was off course.

Squat

45 x 3 x 3r

135 x 3

225 x 2

315 x 1

365 x 1

405 x 1

435 x 6 x 2r - paused the last set. Easy peasy.

Speed Squat

280 x 6 x 2r - man these hit me. Not a bead of sweat today until I started these.

I used to take them every time but then stopped awhile back. Now they pep the hell outta me. This was some 1MR. I could do doubles and triples with the original Jack3d and such and not get a huge pop. Maybe your receptors need a break?

It ended up being a bit on these. Probably a good 3-5 minutes. I need to start hitting the upright rows again. I think they help my bench a bunch.

Week 5. Couldn't keep my pace from the last 5th week hitting 8 work sets in 15 minutes but I'm content with hitting 6. That's still a dozen reps at 90% of my working max in 15 minutes.

Thanks buddy! For some reason I can recover and get after heavy pulls more quickly than the other lifts even though I'm not really "built" to pull.

Afternoon

Week 5. Very pleased with how my strict pressing is going so far this year it'll be good to test it in a month or so. With the 10 reps on my last set I'm possibly in that 240-250 strict range right now. Who knows where my push press would be but I'd assume at least another 20#.
