I think I have found my left hand limit. Righty is still going strong. What hurts the most is my fingertip pads. They are becoming largely calloused and tender. I think if I keep this up, I may damage blood vessels inside. Has anyone done that? I think I'm gonna take tomorrow off, then finish the week with #2 strapholds. I need to bring a 5 lb'er to work, but I have a feeling that may not be enough. Next week, I'll try the 343 again. I may order another #2 for filing / BTR strapholds, and a #4.

1620 - just counted reps for the week - 196. So I did 8 more, making 204 in three days right handed, and totaled 156 lefty.

1655 - Couldn't wait, ordered another #2 and a #4.

3-24 - Four days rest, and no apparent jump in strength. Decided to do strapholds this week

am warmup - T,1,2 - 5 reps - r,l

#2 - strapholds with metal ruler and 2.5lbs, measured in secs

0900 - 9/8

1000 - 10/10

1230 - 10/2

My day was interrupted by the arrival of my new #4 and #2, both doublestamped. The new #2 seems about equal with my old #2. The #4, well, I could sooner squeeze water from a stone. Since the #2s are about equal, I will file down the new ##2 for strapholds, as soon as I do 10 secs each hand with it. Maybe tomorrow?

I'll probably continue this way for the next few days, testing both #2's. It appears now that the ##2 is a bit harder, but should ease up after seasoning. And, oh yeah, I love the feel of fresh knurling!!

4-15 Back from vacation. Squeezed the grippers a few times while gone, nothing substantial.

1500 - T - 5 reps - r,l

- 343 - 3 attempts - r,l

- #2 - 6 reps - r,l

- ##2 - 4 reps r, 3 reps l

- #1 - 10 reps - r,l

The 343 looks about 2 pennies apart. I'll try pennies tomorrow and see where I am. I may find a thick strap to bridge the gap. I'd like to close it before I move mid-May.

Jonathan,

I tried using two pennies taped together, then slipped the ruler between the pennies without being taped. I could do that with my #2. I would have tried this morning with the 343, but ended up going for max reps on my #1. After that, the 343 felt like my #4. I waited about 6 hours before trying the ##2.

Uh-oh. Felt some dull pain in my right elbow since Tuesday night, like the tendon was acting up again. I'm scaling back on right-handed work. Today was a test, still a twinge. I may go to twice a week righty, and give it a little time. Lefty, I'm still going for broke.

3-21 Rested over the weekend. Hoped the right elbow pain would go away.

No pain right elbow. I will continue with just morning warmups until Thursday evening's MayDay festivities. Hopefully, I will be pain-free by then, and not re-injure the elbow tendon. Nothing noteworthy lefty.

Well, now I know I can hold the "strap". Time to put a little weight on it! Once I can hold 2.5 lbs for 10 seconds, I will file down the ##2 for beyond the range strapholds.

5-1 - Typical warmup, bent a thin 8" Craftsman screwdriver. Will try gripboard bash tonight, so nothing else. Three day rest coming up.

Feel good, no pain. Will increase workout frequency, trying for a consistent 3/3 reps once an hour. Will also add ruler holds in the afternoon when I feel stronger.

I see the volume is increasing again. I can't see the #3 being able to resist that kindof tenacity much longer!!

Yes, oh yes, let it build!! My double-stamped #2 is a good bit harder than my single-stamped #2. It's a good step up to the 343, which is a step to the #3.

1000 - 1130 - Since I'm leaving my job, I scrolled a co-worker's name in 3/16" CRS. That hurt a bit. I haven't done any bending in a while.

1300 - ##2 - 7/4

1430 - ##2 - 6/5

1630 - ##2 - 1/1

I think the ##2 is starting to get to me. I couldn't make the normal 5 reps righty with the #2 this morning because my hands were still sore from yesterday. The bending had a lot to do with my hands tiring out by day' end.

Fantastic progress Alan. Great job on the Craftsman wrench! I'd like to try that myself...don't think the wrench has anything to fear though. :D

Whoa, dude! A post! I tell you, the move was horrendous. But it's done, and high time to get my butt back into gear. During the past month and a half, I did manage to PR my #2 righty - 20! But the grippers seldom found my hands, no excuses. Back to square 2.

It felt good, no pain after 20 minutes. I need to ease back into things, although I'm not well known for that. This week will be key, and AOBS draweth nigh.
