Peter Horne Memorial Grip contest 2006

Date

Saturday April 8th, 2006.

Venue

Stafford

Start

11am

Events

1. Two Hands Pinch Lift for reps

2. Total Wrist Tester

3. TBA

4. TBA

5. Weighted Toolbox carry

Since my dad died in 2003 I've done some kind of feat of strength to celebrate his birthday. From next year I will run a grip comp on the nearest saturday to his birthday. We want the event to be quite quick, maybe 2 hours. For this first event I will have events that my dad liked and competed in. We will also feature the walk with his toolbox as the last event. My dad used to offer this toolbox and all his tools to anyone who could beat the distance he would carry it. Anyway, it will be a hard but fun day, followed by a visit to the restuarant after for a big steak.

There is no entrance fee or prizes for this contest, and is open to all who fancy a go.

David

Graeme,

No he didn't. But later in his life when he was 58 I beat him by a few yards. He did 140 yards, and the toolbox then weighed 98lb. The handle is a thin triangular handle. It will be fun to see what we can do.

Neil,

Cheers

David

That sounds like it will be real painful using a thin handle.

What is the total wrist tester is it some sort of device?

Graeme,

Yes the Total Wrist Tester is a great device that will test all wrist strength. I will upload a photo of it soon and all rules and info.
