FrankyBoy
Hmm, perhaps I should mention this too: I failed on two nails: 7,0 x 150mm and IM Blue 5" Could kink both but not far enough.
Jeff Parker
Took my nails to the Christmas party. did 5 TT's 6 yellows-PR! Never done more than 3 yellows before. 2 kinked blues. And a bolt that was the thickness of a blue, and the same length, but it was definatly eaiser.
FrankyBoy
Nice job on the Yellows.
Jeff Parker
Thanks Franky, I love the feeling of bending when they start to bend as soon as you put pressure on them. I still have not tried to bend a blue fresh, so next time I bend, which will be tomorow or the next day, I will do a slight warm up and then go for the blue. FrankyBoy
12-28-04 Even I was a bit sick today I wanted to put some hurt on some nails. Victims of today I bent: 5xYellow (3 of them were earlier kinked but not finished ones) 4xBlue Video: 2nd Blue Bend (5MB) 1x6,0 x 130mm 1x6,0 x 115mm 0x6,0 x 105mm (noticable Kink but no crush down possible) I couldn't even kink the last nail using DU. Only the pinky and the ring were on the nail. So I tried it DO and got a kink of about 30-45 degrees. Now the good news: 1xG5 Video: G5 Bolt (4MB, Low Resolution) A good bending session. Funny thing is that after the successful bend of the G5 I had to stop the training. I was so blasted that I couldn't continue the training. Jeff Parker
Real nice bend there, I was finally able to watch the video, congrats! My hands were still to sore, so I just did a ton of wrist and forearm work to mimick the bending. Next bending I will definatly make a real good atempt at that elusive blue! FrankyBoy
Had a meeting with with Gerrit (reubi) and Jens (ouzo12) yesterday. My best bends were: 5.5" G5 bolt. PR Kinked a 6" G8 bolt. PR I bent two Reds: One was prekinked to 82.5 degs in a vise, the second to 69 degs. PR (The straight nail has 0 degs) Edited January 5, 2005 by FrankyBoy

FrankyBoy
You'll get that Blue very soon. Excellent job. Today I got a visit of Tom Becker, winner of the last grip championship in germany. Of course I had to demonstrate my new bending abilities even though I should better rest due to an inflammed flexor tendon in my left forearm. Monday I'll see a doctor. I bent: 2x6,0 x 180mm 10x7,0 x 200mm + 2 Blues in 5:30 mins. 1 5.5" G5 (kinked by Tom) 1x7,0 x 180mm 1x7,0 x 170mm 1x7,0 x 160mm 1x7,0 x 150mm 1x7,0 x 140mm PR All but the last were bend DU, the last DO. 4 Reds prekinked to 70-90 degrees. I again tried the G8 but failed again. (10 degrees or so.)
FrankyBoy
Yesterday I did a very short (due to my tendon problems) session with my new master Greg Amidon on Webcam. We dueled ourself with bending heavier and heavier stuff. To make the whole thing a bit more equal Greg agreed to bend DU also. Greg began with the bend I tried to follow. I bend: 2x6.0x180mm nails as Warmup 1xBlue 1x1/4" x 6" CRS 1xG5 0xG8 The usual kink on the G8 then it froze again. Of course even the G8 didn't stop Greg. Well, at least I could impress him with my grippers.
FrankyBoy
Little bending session today during a meeting. Did some warmup nails til the Blue then I tried a new PR: A Red prekinked to 60 degrees (from 0 on). Had my fight with it but got it finally down. During the workout I had a great idea: Greg recommended do to some lever work. Watching the vbar I just realized that this thing would make a very good lever bar. So from now on I will include some lever work for my bending using the LGC vbar.
Jeff Parker
2 days ago did some bending, forgot to post it. started up the IM ladder and got to yellow when.... my towel ripped! I got a pretty good bruise on my left palm, so I had to stop. I have been using the heavy hammer 2 twice a week now, and I really feel stronger in the wrists. Let me know if you think the leverage work your going to be doing is helping your bending.
Jeff Parker
bent using the IM pads whitex1 greenx1 TTx1 Yellowx1 the pads slipped off halfway during the yellow bend and hurt my left hand, same spot where the nail had gone through the towel. I am now working out with 6#s on the HH2 for rotations in the 6-10 range. I feel it is really helping my bending.
FrankyBoy
I strongly recommend to use leather pads. Jeans works too! I sometimes use the IM pads too, just o get the feeling with them. Since I start DU I don't have those problems with slipping off though.
Jeff Parker
I am going to get some leather to use for most of the time, but I want to get a feel for the IM pads because I do want to certify with them eventually. By the way, I didnt find the IM pads to be hard to use at all. They were actually better feeling than my bathroom towels I had been using. mmainlands
I found the exact same thing, that compared to the washcloths and rags I was using, when I switched to the IM wraps I liked them much better, especially when I folded them into fourths. They are extrememly puncture resistant. I can also say that I'm glad I didn't really use leather to any great extent before certifying, becaude afterwards when I did get some suede the difference in comfort was amazing - and it would have been hard to switch back to the cordura. Jeff Parker
My Im pads have a slight tear in them already! Used them again today TTx1 yellowx1 bluex0 Holy crap that was close! The yellow didnt take any effort at all so I figured I would be able to bend the blue this time, but it wouldnt go. I did put the biggest kink in one that I have ever done before though. Next time for sure!
FrankyBoy
Great! For sure only a question of technique. Are you holding the nail very high, right under your chin? If u want, we may do a bending session together via webcam on the yahoo messenger. I did this again yesterday with Kevin (handgripperman) and Dave Morton. Again I got a bunch of great tips from both of them. Thanks buddies! Warmup: bench press 30 x 20kg I bent: 2x6,0mmx180mm as specific warmup 1xYellow 1xBlue 1xRed from 62,5 degrees 1xRed from 45 degrees PR Dave told me that I probably will be able to bend a Red within two months. Jeff Parker
Nice bend on that kinked red, your getting very close! I dont have any type of web cam stuff though. Well, to do the initial bend, I hold my hands with one hand on top, and the other on the bottom. Then I switch to double overhand to finish it off, and yes, I hold the nail very high. FrankyBoy
Well, the G8 is down. Props to Dave Morton and handgripperman who took the time and watched me bending yesterday and gave me a bunch of useful tips. Especially the placement of the nail which showed me Dave in detail was the key point in my opinion. Thanks buddies! http://www.gripboard.com/index.php?showtop...63entry145663
Jeff Parker
Way to go franky! You have given me some motivation to do some more bending! Im gonna hit the heavy hammer hard on sunday, and do some minor bending on tuesday. Thursday will be the big bending day. The blue must go down by thursday. No exceptions! FrankyBoy
Knock that Blue down finally. Wrap it tight. Get it done! I'm sure you'll get it now. Jeff Parker
The blue was supposed to go down thursday. It did not. I was very close, I had less than half left to bend. I was also an idiot and did a chest and shoulder workout with my buddy eairler in the day. That is probebly why I had no problem with the initial part of the bend, but couldnt do the rest. FrankyBoy
Keep going for it!! Next time you'll have it. Yesterday at the Swiss Comp in Les Rasses organized by David Hurzeler I bent: G8 6" (official cert for GB and FBBC) PR G8 5.5" (attempt for an official GB cert but 20s too long) PR Prekinked Red from 30 degrees. PR Kinked a Red to about 10 degrees. PR
Jeff Parker
Nice job on the bends. Was that the first time you tried a red that wasnt prekinked? I have not even tried a red yet, and I wont be untill I can take down the blue on a regular basis.
