08/05/2006 Active Rest :tongue

Today a rest day was planned but I got visited by Flo, so it turned out to be an active rest. :inno

Without noting every weight we did:

1-hand pinch

1-finger oly lockouts

1-arm snatch

1-arm strict press

RT classic and thumbless

front lever

I only tested my reverse style and got a new PR:

For the 1. time I got to kink a G8 that wrist intesive style.

It ws only 15° but thats a fine start.

Next saturday I will probably do a very serious (DO) session.

Some options are:

5.5" Red

6" Hexabastard

7" Shiny Bastard

5/16" G5 ???? :erm

Maybe more :tongue

about strict pressing. Have you tried with two dumbbells at once instead of one? IMO much stricter, doesn't allow one to transform the press into a side bend.

Yes, in earlier times with 2 good arms.

Nowerdays it won't work since my arms are about 10kgs apart in strength.

But I agree, it turns very easily into a sidepress, yes.

I probably can't do 37kg strict then.

Your stock has a very special place in my collection now but I honestly fear those bars more than the 345kg CB I got from David.

08/08/2006 Blob

Added some more weight on my 20kg Blob (+1.65kg) and lifted it only once out of 10 attempts on a 18" plateform.

Still a PR.

Afterwards I tried grippers again and got a double out of my eazy #3. WAY OFF and the two little fingers aren't very amused about the load.

Little Sledge Work

Front Levers only (from floor to upright)

Added some magnets to my 4kg sledge (4.1kg) and got it twice with my right: PR.

Lefty I'm still at 3kg. :(

Today I'm resting to prepare for my meeting tomorrow with Tom and Erik who has his MM2 cert.

Erik killed the MM2. :rock

But me and Tom were definately pussies in bending. :blush

I failed in bending a 5.5" Red, got it to 70° in 10s and that was it.

Its still the sweep and there I have no form at that length. :angry:

Tom failed on the Huge Bastard Cert, but as usually was bleeding like stupid.

So he did 2 Big Bastard instead. :bow

I got some new PRs:

G8 old terminator style to 21°.

One arm snatch

Erik got a fine PR with 200kg in the DL :rock and I tried to rep it, got 3 of them.

To my and Eriks and Toms big surprise I nearly got 75kg to full DL. :blink

Super Wide Pinch (10cm) on a block

35kg with my right to full DL.

As usual a lot of fun with the guys.

Started with DLs but felt a strange pain in my left elbow.

Might be a biceps tendon strainment so I stopped after the last warmup lift with 170kg.

2-hand plate wrist curl, full ROM

Waited a couple of minutes and tried a 90° Huge Hex -> strained left biceps

Well, I know that problem and I still don't warmup my biceps enough, stupid!!!! :trout

Last MGC I had the same problem and had to switch to DU from DO and nearly lost the contest.

08/20/2006 Bench

My back was alarming sore that morning even if I did only s single set DLs yesterday.

I was a bit unsure if it was really soreness but in the evening it was gone.

Workout #9 (of 16)

Today again the 'easy' workout of the week.

(I'm doing 2 workouts per week, the 'easy' workout is the one with 2 days rest after it, the heavy is the one with 3 days rest after it).

1x10x27.5kg (Heike benched with me so I used her weight as the 2nd warmup set)

Nice to see you are bending some good steel man. The short stuff is just a matter of hitting it perfect and keeping the speed up past 90 degrees. Nice work gentlemen. Amazing to see all that you are all doing at the same time, very impressive. :bow
