jimwylie1
Thanks Mikeal. It was a good day although my pinch and grppers were down a little . Dean was a grip novice and did very well - especially on the pinch lift in which he lifted 100K +. He could be the one to watch if he actually trained for the events! David Horne
Dean may have been a grip novice but was in last years Britains Strongest Man final and is a big lad weighing in at just over 300lbs. Could be a possible winner next year! David
nils
Dean was a grip novice and did very well - especially on the pinch lift in which he lifted 100K +. He could be the one to watch if he actually trained for the events! Congratulations for you all! So Dean has not trained at all for the events? In that case he could become a lot better in the more specialized events just in the few months before the european championships if he works for it! For long term potential I guess that Jason has a good future as well. Quite a few years younger then the rest I suppose?
Arne
Congrats to all! I'm just working with the results from Löddeköpinge Grip Challenge XI.
Clay Edgin
Congratulations to all the competitors. Glad to hear there were not any injuries during the contest although I'm sure everyone is sore! This may have already been covered somewhere else, but what kind of apparatus did you use for the one-hand lift? Was a hook grip allowed? David Horne
Clay, A one inch handle. No hook grip allowed. Arne, Look forward to seeing your results. Nils, There are many with potential, and Dean and Jason are of course two of them. David

Mikael Siversson
.. and likewise congrats to David for his 545k total European record (adjusted to conform with PL and OL rules for scoring totals) in the one hand lift. What widths were used in the pinch by the various competitors?
Mikael Siversson
...and congrats to the new European record in the v-bar at 315k (162.5+152.5; conforming to the scoring in PL and OL where you score in 2.5k steps for the total). Which is a massive 20k above the Swedish record (295k: Benny Wennberg). After six competitions in England and Sweden using a LGC original or identical replica (made out of the same batch of iron by the same guy) v-bar only one man has hit 300k and beyond: Jim Wylie, king of the v-bar. David Horne
Pat, Plenty of painkillers got me through the contest. The Punk night is tonight. We've just finished with the Amateur contest, and after food we're off to Birmingham for the concert. David

oldtimer
David, Steve, et al, Great job! I have some questions--how did you rate the grippers to two decimal points-- for example you listed a right hand close with a 3.29? In the Unbraced Bending event how did you arrive at a lift of 267.5? You know me--I'm a record keeper so I'm just trying to understand how these scores were derived. Maybe I missed some previous explanation? Dale
