If you don't mind. I am interested if the results will be similar with others. Well, after a workout the forearms are really really big and I have problems closing a Trainer. My forearms have grown a bit after starting GVT, of course only at their front side where the flexors are. To be honest if your main goal is to gain mass, I would do other exercises for both the extensors and the flexors. I've noticed too when doing high volume that taking a break like you did can have pretty adverse results. I'm sure you'll be back at it and closing in on 100kg in no time. I guess the Rolling Thunder is slowing my progress in the crushing power. That's the reason I was taking a break from the RT-training 2 weeks before my both gripper certs. But when you train both you for sure will improve yourself in both disciplines and thats what I want to. Since I have still some gains using the basic version there is no reason to modify it now. Another point is that I didn't train continuously due to my certification preparation. Day 14 Today I built some Pinch Grip blocks according to Rick Walkers great article posted in the new forum. Of course I couldn't resist to play with them. Afterwards I startet my GVT-workout with the RT: Entry Tests Left: 75kg (165lbs) PR Right: 81,25kg (179lbs) PR This starts to scare me. Those weights are feeling incredible heavy for me. However they are getting some air and slowly they are coming up. Don't know why. GVT-Sets Hmm, since my inner thumb side felt really sore due to the pinching I did before my workout, I had quite to fight through the sets. (~88kg currently) This program seems to work fine if it's done twice a week. I had a phase after my pause (pause was between workouts 9 and 10) when I trained only once a week and I had no further gains. As mentioned earlier I want to test the advanced GVT version too. I will go back to the RT since its one event at the german grip championship and last year the RT was the worst of 5 events. I got second overall but only 7th in the RT. Currently I'm making great progress in the bending, gripper and pinch department and I don't wont to slow down that progress by including another event. What I did love at that program was that you feel the muscles which are involved in the lift. Something I didn't observe using max attempts. With the 7 or 8th set the forearms were that pumped up that it hurt and it was challenging to just let pass the 90 secs rest. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Right and left with the same weights as Franky RH 45kg LH 37,5 I ended my last set with 5 reps for RH and Lh with 1 rep. This is really something else, WOW. My forearms are fried. Next day, i couldn't even properly squeeze a gripper! I think good things will happen with this program. Hopefully i can reach my goal of 80kg with RH and 70kg with LH. DuTCH Posted April 3, 2005 Share Posted April 3, 2005 GVT training: I didn't do a 1RM test, i just started out with the same weights, 37,5 and 42kg. I did the workout as followed, i did my set for lefthand, changed weight and did my RH set, and took a breather and started again left. The first time i completed all 10 sets for one hand, before starting the other. I managed to get all 10 sets for 10 reps, both hands. So that is a LOT better than last time... Monday or Tuesday will do it again. First a 1RM test. Should i base my workout numbers on the 1RM test, or should i add 5% on to the 37,5 adn 42??
