FrankyBoy Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 Heaving read so many great logs I decided to start my own one. This log will focus on grippers. My middle-term goals which I hope to realize all this year are: (In order of appearance? Well, let's see) 1. MMG certification with IM #3 2. Tetting SM certification 3. IM #3 certification 4. MMG Level 1 certification I will do gripper work twice a week. RT, Thick Bar work and Pinching will be done on other days. However these will not be documented in this log. Now, let's have some fun First training will be tomorrow. Quote

FrankyBoy Posted April 24, 2004 Author Posted April 24, 2004 4/24/04 Well, felt a bit weak today. May be caused by my RT experiments on thursday. So I did no goal attempts today. Considering the credit card rule I cut some PVC-stripes of different width: 1" 1 1/4" 1 1/2" 1 3/4" 2" Today I included those in my training. I'm still not sure if I should train with them or if I should consider them as test devices. Today I split my workout into two parts: Workout I Goal Attempts None Credit Card Work 1xRB210 1"-set (1x) 1xRB210 1 1/4"-set (1x) 1xRB210 1 1/2"-set (1x) 1xRB210 1 3/4"-set (0x, 2mm) 1xSM 1"-set (0x, 1mm) 1xSM 1 1/4"-set(0x, 1mm) Negatives 2xMM1 Replica force shut and hold (5mm) opened quickly 2xBBE, bad ones Workout II No-Set Work 2xfiled #2 (2x) 2x#2 (2x) 10xfiled #2 (10x) Hm, the non-filed #2 is a bit harder since the outer spread is larger. Guess I'll take that one in future workouts for my no-set work. Overcrushes 2xSM (7secs,5secs) 2xRB210 (7secs, 10secs) Next gripping day will be tuesday 04/27/04. Quote

FrankyBoy Posted May 1, 2004 Author Posted May 1, 2004 Today was no specific gripper training, since I met with Thomas Becker, winner of the last german grip championship 2003 and COC Erik Franz winner in 2002. We played with different grippers, the RT, the IM pinch grip block, did Farmers Walks and so on and had a lot of fun. Next grippers only training will be on tuesday 05/04/04. Quote
FrankyBoy Posted May 4, 2004 Author Posted May 4, 2004 Boy, shouldn't have taken the grippers to my gym yesterday. Again, I couldn't resist. So today was an 'easy' day: 2x#3 parallel set : 2mm,1x 2xRB210 JK-style:2mm,2mm 2x#2 JK-style: 2x 2x#2 noset: 2x 1x10s hard #3 negative Whats JK-style? Saw the J. Kinney video the first time yesterday and just tried to close a gripper as he did: very very slow using a wide set. Thats all for today. Quote

FrankyBoy Posted June 1, 2004 Author Posted June 1, 2004 05/31/04 Today I spend some time filming my goal attempts. So there was no time left to do my regular training. FrankyBoy Posted June 2, 2004 Author Posted June 2, 2004 Thanks! My bets for the next german COC are on Thomas Becker. I'm trying to certify for the Mash Monster Entry Level this saturday, the equivalent to the former IM #3 certification (see the MM Forum). Butzbach is about 50km in the north of Frankfurt at the A5. FrankyBoy Posted June 3, 2004 Author Posted June 3, 2004 06/03/04 Today I did only a low volume prep. for my both certs this saturday. 3x#3 as MMG0(3x) 2xSM no-set(2x) The SM close using a no-set style isn't easy to get for me. It's definately near my limit, so I hope there is some extra adrenalin coming when certifying. I concluded with a little thumb work: 2x10xStore Gripper 2x#T Negatives Boy, am I excited! Quote
