Toru(gripapple)'s Handstrength Log

I think I'm going to start keeping a training log on the GripBoard.

I've been doing mostly block weight grip strength training as mentioned above.

This is because I blindly believe John's words that Block weights = hand strength.

I've been training grip strength for 22 years now, and after 22 years I've finally reached the level I'm at now, but at first I was just barely able to close the COC#T

I'm not trying to emulate John, but I don't touch the gripper as much as I used to, and the last time I used it for training was about 3 years ago. Of course, I'm considering COC #3 certification at some point.

Thanks

”JGR40+10KG” Grip Rush

JGR40 is a replica that was molded from the YORK40 at a Japanese ironworks.
I have a YORK47.5, and comparing the difficulty of lifting these two, I think  JGR40 is a good imitation of the YORK40.
Similarly, there is a JGR50 in Japan, which is a replica of the YORK50 (”Fatman ver").

Thanks

Thank you.
It's true that if I'm not careful, I can break a bone. I'll have to be careful.

JGR40 + 11.25 kg

I think the key to getting stronger is to work with block weights of all shapes and sizes. I think the secret to getting stronger is to pursue more weight.

I agree. I have a few block weights I should start using them to see if it increases my grip strength

But in Japan, there are many people who only do gripper training.

I may not be able to give you a very accurate answer because I have a training style where I almost never touch the gripper.
About 25 years ago, there were hardly any decent grippers. Most of them were for health promotion purposes, and you couldn't find anything like the COC, and most of them were made of plastic handles with a difficulty level of about G or S.
With the development of electric commerce, there are now many imitations of the COC on the market. However, I believe that COC, of course, is not far behind the RB, GHP and BB brands.

The Baseline Dynamometer showed 112 kg.
Recently, a video of Professional sumo wrestlers, including Japan's YOKOZUNA, grasping a Baseline Dynamometer was released. Influenced by this, I also gripped a Baseline Dynamometer for the first time in a long time. I bought a Baseline Dynamometer 14 years ago, and I feel that my ability has improved a lot since then.
In the video, I am speaking entirely in Japanese, and I am talking about how the black needle blows away the red needle when you grip the handle of the Baseline Dynamometer vigorously.

I tried the Egg Crush Challenge.

People who have developed some grip strength should only try the vertical pinch.

I guess I am not strong enough to keep the eggshells from flying off as Nathan Holle tried.

Many Japanese grip strength trainees prefer grippers. The truth is that those who do blockweights and nail bending are quite a minority. I believe that block weights in particular are essential for the overall development of hand strength. That's why I'm sharing some tips on how to lift block weights.
