Jermiah Merciconah
A 2.5 CCS close from last night, Considering the fact that i very very rarely train it i'd say i'm not doing too bad, I think a 3 CCS could be on the cards not far from now, I'm gonna start incorporating block sets and carded sets more into my training

Jermiah Merciconah
I suppose not everything can be a close and today's no different, Still getting used to the technique for CCS but i think i'm really getting somewhere Tried on the 3.5 before this and surprisingly got further than i thought i would, But man these GHPs are wide as hell to set And thanks for the props erik, Always working
Jermiah Merciconah
Switched gears today and tried something a little different in training, Since my sweep has always been my weakest point in the range of motion i'm giving spacer training a try to see if it gets me towards ccs #3
DevilErik
Hey man I don't know if it will help but try to be explosive while closing I usually take a deep breath and think about destroying the gripper with my hand. It took me a couple of days to get used to it but it has improved my sweep tremendously.
Jermiah Merciconah
I've previously tried being explosive in the past with my gripping but i find that it dislodges the back handle from where i've placed it, even with a big thumb pad Most of the reason why this part of the range is weaker for me is because i was a deep set specialist, But now that i'm focusing on block and card sets i'm building it up really quick Got this technique from Paul Savage and i'm finding its working like a charm tho, So i should be closing in on the 3 cert in no time Edited September 30, 2021 by Jermiah Merciconah addendum

Jermiah Merciconah
Its all good, Your advice still rings true since its how my little brother is closing grippers, He sets it down then explodes off the mark, He's a hair away from the 2.5

Jermiah Merciconah
Another good ccs training session today, An observation i made, I find it interesting how the areas that get callused/torn are different depending on what set you use, When i was doing purely DS and MMS, I was tearing the center of my palm open, But now that i'm doing wide and CCS its hitting me more in my fingers
Jermiah Merciconah
Bunch of highlights from today's training session, Getting within a hair's width of that 3, Getting excited for the next training session now Honestly that 3 is coming pretty much any day now
DevilErik
Sick dude you have crazy potiental! Do you also train pinch, thickbar and/or wrists or just grippers?

I notice great similarity with the setting technique when comparing to Ivan Cuk, your hand size is just optimal for that technique! Seems to suit you perfectly well. When I have the gripper in CCS position, it’s basically hanging on my fingertips with the pinkie not touching it by far and just waiting for action time but hey, David Shamey also has shorter fingers (probably similar to my hand size of like 7.6“ and proportions since we’re similar in height) and is strong as hell so the motivation is there! Keep up the epic work! Edited October 4, 2021 by Alexander Koss

Yeah man i'm a lefty, Despite training my right for most of my gripster career my left always ends up stronger, So i just train the left instead 11 hours ago, Alexander Koss said: Daaamn bro that’s epic! Keep up the epic work! Thanks for the praise bro, Always working Yeah Ivan himself has noticed how similar our setting techniques are, Mine's more of a hybrid between his and Nathan's set due to using the hook, It feels real comfy Yeah it will be possible for you to CCS harder grippers, Like you said if David Shamey who has borderline tiny hands can CCS beast grippers i don't see why you shouldn't be able to get the form down, It'll just take a bit longer than someone like myself with 9 inch hamhocks, I think the most important thing is to find a set you're comfortable with, I thought i wouldn't be able to CCS due to how it felt but then one day it just clicked, Keep up the beast work 3
Jermiah Merciconah
Another good session today, Definitely feeling myself approaching a new level, Just have to have access to sustainable calories since this week's been a bit meh on that front, My 40mm block arrived a while back but i haven't used it until today, I honestly don't know if i like it or not, It feels too narrow for my tastes Still literally millimeters away from the #3 CCS
Jermiah Merciconah
Pretty weird training session today, Decided to just axe the left hand entirely, It may be slightly physically stronger than my right but closing grippers has always felt off on my left and its keeping me from getting that last little bit on the #3 CCS while my right barely even struggles to get it Didn't record any closes on video because i didn't know if i'd do that well today but managed CoC #3 CCS on the right hand (Will get video of that next training session) 5 CoC #2.5 CCS closes A couple normal wide sets thrown in there for good measure Its interesting how unilaterally biased grippers are depending on what hand you're using, Right hand despite being weaker on dynamometry and a couple other lifts feels stronger, Probably due to how the spring is wound on the gripper

This is normal most grippers were made for right handed individuals. Iron mind has some Left Turn grippers that were made specially for left handed individuals. Jermiah Merciconah
Had a great training session today, Everything felt good and fresh despite being on Nathan's program, Hit some solid ass closes on the right hand, No pain, No fatigue or anything I'm excited to get my cobalt in a couple days, See if i can get close to that from a wide set, If i can i'm gonna go for both the MM1 cert and the #3 cert, Big things coming

Jermiah Merciconah
The Cobalt from Cannon finally arrived today, So far from the 5 minutes i've spent with it, Its a really nice gripper, The knurling i think might be sharper than my GHPs which means i don't have to use as much chalk, But it isn't as wide as the GHPs so it doesn't feel off in my hand which combines for a really nice crushing feel Gave the cobalt a really half hearted attempt today on my rest day, I think this is gonna be a really nice training tool to bridge the 160s gap that has been empty for me Edited October 20, 2021 by Jermiah Merciconah
