Bill Piche
Is it just me-or does it seem harder to close the gripper when it is in the collar? I must have a fast sweep that carries over into the crush. When starting in the collar, I can still mash the #3, but it takes a lot more than if I set one and close it. Interesting. But, the collar will certainly get my end strength up to par to get this damn BBSE! Rick Walker Same here. Feels harder.
John Wood
Hey Everybody! I finally got my choker collar! It's from one of my PDA stooges (thanks, you know who you are.) It's not the one I originally ordered, that one is gone like dust in the wind, but oh well, all that matters is that I finally got one.I was going to get one eventually when I certified for the MM gripper. All I can say is outstanding! Bravo Bill, what a great idea. I'll be sure to let everyone know how I'm progressing with it on the way to the #4... John Wood "TM" -Not to be used without the authors written permission. I've still got my collar. As far as grip being grip related, I find that when I use my collar, I find that it puts a lot of stress on the middle finger. An analysis that I had done by the Ergonomics department of the University of Michigan concluded (among many other things) that this device used in the prescribed manner with a heavy gripper may place undue stress on the distal and medial philanges of the middle finger. Anybody else notice this while training?
Revtor
John, if you dont mind, what other things did the ergonomics dept conclude about grippers while you were there?? Curious to hear what sicience and "normal" people think of us (you guys, not me!) closing these monster grippers.. I have very thin fingers and hand structure, lots of pain when going at my#2 hard.. curious.. ~Steve M
HAMMERHEAD
John, Have you noticed the same stress on the middle finger when using the SW? It's the same princile: you get the good set and go for a ride. Sometimes after a lot of heavy neg's with the Gripinator my middle finger aches. I think this isn't really noticed without a choker or machine because you don't get the middle finger completly wrapped around the gripper unless you use a choker or gripper mimicking machine. -Erik
