Other side, sounds like a (semi) pro strongman? Giving his bw and musclemass that is something to expect. Would he had trouble with a #2 that would have sounded a bit strange heh. 160kg is huge. I think a lot of strongman could 'easily' cert at least the #3 with some training if they'd care about that sort of thing. Nice to see those guys train. Grind
It's really motivated to train with some guys. He's no strongman, this was his first time strongman and he did mostly deadlifts today. He trains about 1 year now and was really big before he ever touched a weight. He's a gifted talent. His brother is a little smaller but he can't close a #2. For someone who is relatively new to training and never did any grippers ever, I was stunned. He doesn't even do heavy work with his hands in daily life, he's a painter. The SM 130lb was the hardest I had with me today (except my elite) and he closed it easily, I think he can do even better. I also gave him my elite 185lb and he closed it beyond parallel with no set either. Next time I will bring my GHP7 152lb and see what he does with that gripper. Maybe I can train him for a CCS and he will be the 3th Dutchman to certify (just to motivate you a little to certify this year. ) When he heard that Brian Shaw and Magnus Samuelson also certified he got a little motivated. From what I read the guy has a much stronger base than the average guy. Let's be honest, he has about 60kg at least more than us heh I think by the sound you are describing him he could cert perhaps within a year with some dedicated training. He's on a much more different strength base than I am. CCS-ing a heavy #3 (which I am damn sure I will get when certing, Murphy's law) I will be on the peak of my strength CCS wise. MMS I am able to close much heavier grippers but that's not where certing for IM is all about. My strength is all over the place and even with dedicated training I sometimes doubt that I will ever pull the cert off. There are a few options in my opinion: 1: big guy will cert as third; 2: Bob will cert as third and is now secretly getting strong; 3: I will be third; 4: I will never get the cert despite training my ass off. I will go for option 5: if it's meant to be I will get that cert whether I will be 3th, 8th or 10th

His deadlift 250kg but he doesn't squat. I hope I can train him to get allround strong maybe do some competitions.

Grind
Very solid gripper work! Thnx I enjoy the work. You're new to grippers? I have not seen reports of chokerwork. Please explain. I don't have a hose-clam. At this time I do not find the need to buy one because every training I'm making gains (almost every training a pr). This was the best work with the IM#2 106lb gripper I have done so far so I can't complain. It's something I will keep in mind if I'm at a dead end.
