Mikael Siversson
Eric, Do you have an 'eating day' as well? I consume as many calories as I can one day a week, cakes, ice cream you name it. This worked extremely well for me as a competing bodybuilder 20 years ago, as part of the preparation for a competition (boosting the metabolism). Especially important in my case as I don't do any cardiovascular other than walking my dog (and field work). Down to 173.3 btw. EricMilfeld
Lookin good Eric. What kind of running shoes you like? I wear New Balance, no particular model, just whatever is available on the shelf when I walk in. I'm starting to experience a bit of knee pain, and couldn't even run last night. Of course, all the concrete running I've been doing can't be good. Might seek out a better surface. Have fun at Marlyfest, Eric! I dropped off my wife and daughter, which was not fun (hellacious traffic congestion), and then I promptly retreated to my mom's house for the day. Sandy said the crowds are getting to be a bit much, but they both had a good time, nonetheless. Eric, Do you have an 'eating day' as well? I had no intention of having a gluttony day, but I did yesterday, because my family made me. Now I don't feel so ashamed. I have read about the benefits of doing it, so now maybe I'll make it a weekly event. Will you make part of your contest weight loss water weight the day prior? EricMilfeld
Tried hook grip deads today and after tearing big chunks of skin off my thumbs, with them taped, no less, I've decided to never try hooking again. Deadlifts (hook grip) 455x3 (tore up my thumbs) 16 chinups (so my teres major must be healed, as there was no pain) pinched 2x25s for timed holds with finger tips only to avoid aggravating my newly acquired skin tears 2.75" Revolving Handle Left 105 in plates for several singles and a double Left 105 in plates for 4 reps Right 105 in plates for singles Right 105 in plates for 2 reps
Mikael Siversson
No, I don't think I will have to. I plan to organise the 2013 Wst Australian grip competition in late November or early December, so there is plenty of time to loose those last 10lbs. I am loosing about 1 kg for each cm around the waist so I can project how much I would weigh at peak shape (leanest possible physique without affecting stength based on experience) and I end up with a weight below 70k. I carry a lot less muscle mass on my body compared to when I did bodybuilding and powerlifting as I don't need e.g. heavy, muscular legs in grip competitions, especially not now with weight classes. Those who do train the whole body and compete in the lighter weight classes in grip will eventually, as the sport becomes more competitive, struggle against the more specialised. You don't see too many elite climbers with huge quads. Will you make part of your contest weight loss water weight the day prior?
Mikael Siversson
I have my eating day on Sundays and gain 1-1.5k. I am then back to the Sunday morning weight by the next Friday or Saturday morning and 0.5-0.6k below my previous Sunday morning weight the following Sunday morning. I find it much harder to loose weight if I don't pig out once a week.

What will be the events at the West Australian? It would be great if you could swing contesting the standardized events: Euro, axle, and calibrated grippers. Frankly, not so great much of the time. Pretty lethargic and spacey. I move in slow motion at work. I expected it, though. But even so, after a spoonful of honey, I'm able to get fired up for my workouts and perform pretty well. Body weight: 179.
