Oh yeah, this was at a bodyweight of 293 pounds.

This is my best DL ever, whether in gym or in competition.

Was that some Tyler Durden slash Fight Club editing there between the last two attempts?

Nice pull man. Still doing strongman, too?

Hahaha...Yeah, I'm just too cheap to go buy new tapes for my camera.

I trained strongman some during during Jan and Feb and March, leading up to the comp, but it wasn't with the frequency I'd need to be a top amateur or pro. I don't want to train strongman so much that my deadlift max doesn't improve. I know if I got serious about just the DL, I could get 800 within two years, and sometimes that is what I want to do, strongman be damned. The progress has gone like this

April '07: 606 pounds

June '07: 633 pounds

April '08: 672 pounds

Nov '08: 688 pounds

Mar '09: 716 pounds

110 pounds in 23 months. 84 pounds more to reach 800. I think 84 pounds in 2 years is possible, especially since I've learned a lot about training this past two months.

So yeah. I'm always thinking about the DL and those big numbers.
