Chris Mathison
Couldnt stay away from the garage #3 singles x10 holding 3seconds at the close. - 45sec rest in between some blob pulls. nothing remarkable #2TNS x 10 I might have this thing coming up where I have to close the HG100-350 all in a row hence the short rests between #3 closes. Blob69.5 got air but no lockout. got them on tape.. might utube them when I get my video editor sorted out. That's some impressive blob lifting! Any pointers for the rest of us? Thanks Iroc. I did get it on youtube(in my sig). As for tips I would have to say.. Extensor work. rubber band extensor work and tons of it. I do them at work alot. I dont know if you have seen it, I had a video up a while back, but I also have a block weight deload setup which will increase the weight in hand(holding the blob) throughout the pick and is full weight at the top. For instance just the blob is about blob35 on the floor and slowly increases as you lift it until its the full weight blob50 at lockout. I usually bring that out every 1-2 weeks and put my goal weight on it which lately has been blob69.. Its about blob50 at the bottom but at lockout its the full weight blob69. It was actually quite simple.. Ill have to take a video of it so you can get an idea and possibly build one if you want. Are you doing alot of extensor work? If not double it! I sincerely feel thats what has taken me from just blob50 to blob65+ in a few months. That and the deload setup

Are you doing alot of extensor work? If not double it! I sincerely feel thats what has taken me from just blob50 to blob65+ in a few months. That and the deload setup I've been doing a couple sets of extensor bands after my gripper workouts, and then I'll usually do a couple sets at work once or twice a week. Based on your advice, I think I'll try and do at least 4 - 5 sets every day. I would definitely be interested in building a deload setup too. Thanks for the advice Chris, and best wishes for your future strongman comps!
