Awesome! That's like 220km (140 miles) from here, definitely going to watch!

(Maybe going to compeet too, but then I have to train really hard for half a year.)

Damn! It would be great to come, unfortunately I can't. :( But I'm glad Matti represents Finland, that's history as he is going to be the first Finn ever to participate in international grip competition. Kick some ass Matti! :)

Great stuff Matti. It's lining up to be a nice comp.

Good luck to all.

David

Thank´s David! I think it will be the most exiting day in this year. Lets hope that more people come to competition. More competitiors :rock = More adrenalin

You have to kick your ass more than normal. I think, it would be also nice, if competitiors would take some special grip things, example rear grippers or dynamometer, with this competition. I can take with me my 280 kilos stone :D How about Martin, is he coming?

The axle deadlift is with the hands facing with clean grip ?

Is the one hand deadlift on an olympic bar like Gorner ?

Chris,

the axle deadlift will be performed on an Ironmind Apollons Axle with a double overhand grip - so knuckles facing forward. We use a Texas Power Bar for the One hand deadlift which has a center knurling. The lift can be performed by straddeling the bar or by standing in front of the bar - like a normal deadlift. The barbell has to be lifted (with one hand for sure) without a hook grip but You can use the thumb to press on the other fingers - so it's a normal grip. You must lift the barbell to knee height (both ends of the barbell over the knees, so no down signal is needed here).

If You have any other questions concerning the rules or other things please let me know and/or pm me!

I'm glad that You will compete and I'm looking forward to meet You!

Burkhard
