jimwylie1
Great news. It's a pity that there won't be a few more GB members in attendance though... that's life I guess...!
David Horne
Stewart Killick is actually from Yateley in Surrey, not Scotland - haha Maxwell sent me a pm why he can't make it. He is injured in both elbows so obviously can't compete, but says he may get down to watch. Jim, All you can do is put on the contest. Once again this will be another comp where the promotor is out of pocket. As you said "that's life!" At least with 3 on the stage at a time the comp should be quick. jimwylie1
I guess viper couldn't work this in to his schedule. Sorry, David, but this board member is trying to find a way to showcase his skills. To be honest, that's partly what these comps are about (shame I don't have any bending skills ). More importantly, it's a chance to meet up with new and old grip friends. David Horne
Graeme, No bars will be calibrated. All the steel will be cut from the same lengths. I haven't got it yet from the company - there's a lot of steel! David

David Horne
Pavel, No horseshoe bending. It was just going to be too expensive to ship them over. As it is, with the amount of steel needed/venue, and the lack of competitors it's going to run over budget. That's life! David

David Horne
Just a few days till this contest. Looking forward to meeting the new faces. It's great to see a few strongmen having a go, and from converstions with them and other strongmen this year a few are interested in the grip events. Hence the reason why some single event comps will be ideal for these guys. See you all soon. David

jimwylie1
It's looking unlikely that I'll be competing. If I do, it will only be in some events. Fell off mountain bike a week last Saturday, thought I'd bust a couple of fingers. Still can't bend middle finger more than 90 degrees . I'll have to see how I get on. wscorpion
That's some nice steel David!!! I will probably give you a call tomorrow afternoon once I'm in Stafford (or Staffordshire, still don't know the difference :p). I must admit I'm getting a bit nervous now, not sure whether it is for the flight or the contest ( it's been 10 years or so since my last flight), but nevertheless I'm really counting down the hours
David Horne
Mark, Look forward to meeting you. Don't be nervous, flying is fun, and so will the contest be. David
