David Horne Posted June 8, 2007 Author Posted June 8, 2007 Rules and levels for the braced Long Bar bends http://www.davidhorne-gripmaster.com/bracedbending.html Tell me what you think. I will do the scrolling/coiling and braced and unbraced snapping rules, etc. All this is for the future Champion of Steel contest as I've been getting asked questions and have now only got round to it. Sorry for the delay. David Quote
David Horne Posted June 8, 2007 Author Posted June 8, 2007 Even though I can't really do any training for this comp, as all my efforts are going into the preperation for the GGC in August, I'm still really looking forward to it. Especially since we have the interest of some big strongmen and I can't wait to see what kind of steel they bend! David Quote
David Horne Posted June 8, 2007 Author Posted June 8, 2007 As soon as I get the costing of all the steel that will be used then I will get the entrance fee cost up. David Quote
David Horne Posted June 13, 2007 Author Posted June 13, 2007 I have just booked the Memorial Hall at Great Haywood again for this event. If anyone was at the Champion of Champions Grip contest they will know how good this venue is. I should have all the steel costs any day, and will get the final rules and entrance fees up. Please support this venture. There is going to be so much steel there to bend. If you are a steel bender in the UK, you must be there!! David Quote
jimwylie1 Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 Can't call myself a steel bender but I'll be there. I'm enjoying the long stuff at the moment, even though I'm not very good . I hope some of the top Uk guys can be there . Hopefully there will be food and beer to finish off the day. Quote To those merry souls of other days- who again will make drinking a pleasure- who acheive contentment long before capacity- and who- whatever they may drink- prove able to carry it- and enjoy it- and remain gentlemen.

Cunny Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Are entries limited to 10 competitors. If not are those below 10th awarded nil points? Or do you use a different scoring system for above 10 competitors? Quote
David Horne Posted June 14, 2007 Author Posted June 14, 2007 The contest has no limit on competitors, so hopefully plenty of numbers. That was me just showing you how the points will run. If there are 20 competitors, then 1st place in an event will get 20pts, and last place 1pts. You coming? David Quote

David, as soon as I've bought the tickets I will transfer the 20 pound entrance fee to your account (I guess the same account as for the handle?). Is there a train or something we can take from Birmingham to Great Haywood? Hope to see you all there!!! Quote Mark Vogels -------------------- "Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right."

David Horne Posted August 6, 2007 Author Posted August 6, 2007 Jim, So far we have; Graeme Cunningham Wayne Lockwood, strongman from London Mark Vogels (Holland) Dave Johnson Jim Wylie Richard Scott Elizabeth Horne David Horne Well with 2 days to go I'm a little dissapointed, but hey people can't complain that there isn't enough comps when they don't turn up. At least it will go quickly. Four athletes will be on the stage at the same time. It's a nice venue, and there will be a lot of steel to bend, and I'm sure everyone will be tired at the end. Then we can have food and drink. David Quote
wscorpion Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Too bad there aren't more people competing, I would have loved to see some of the great names of the GB bend some very big pieces of steel David, where are all the contestants from? Are they all from the UK? Quote Mark Vogels -------------------- "Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right."
David Horne Posted August 6, 2007 Author Posted August 6, 2007 Mark, Well it'll be great to meet you, and you will have a good time. All the other competitors are from Britain. David Quote
