Kurt Lane
Faced with the fact I wont be acheveing near my potentail in strongman/ powerlifting due to my back injury Ive decided to turn things in another direction. Ive always wanted to be the best in somthing I like, ever since I was around 6. Goals have changed and so have the sports, I feel my true calling is somewhere in lifting of some sort. Rather then think of it as my lack of options ( I wont stop regular training ever, just need to tone it down) im using grip to fuel my desire to be the best in somthing. It may take years upon years of hard work, I may never even get there, but im ready to give it my all, without any regrets or looking back. Those who know me, and those who dont, you will soon relize I wont give up... ever. And so it begins.... October 16th, 2005. Grippers- All done with a Parralell set unless otherwise noted. Kurt Lane
Left wrist is almost completly healed maybe 3-4 days left. Right one however is KILLING me, I havent been able to do anything for grip and im really slacking in it, injuries come first tho so here is my resignation till i recover fully. I also might get back surgery .. theres alot of things that need to get done, but i will be back as always in time.
Rick Walker
Kurt- How old are you again? I dont mean to sound like an ass but to have that kind of pain, and to need back surgery, already, at a young age-YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING WRONG!!!!!!!! Train with your head. You have a lot of years to get strong, but why push with weights that have obviously left you injured and possible needing surgery? That is insane bro, and quite possibly it has ruined your chances of really reaching your full potential. A lot of people get back injuries and never, ever come back. That is something that can bother you until the day you die. Take it slow man, dont be in a hurry. -Rick
Kurt Lane
Rick, Im 19 and I herniated the disk back in Febuary. I havent even deadlifted, squatted or anything to re agrivate it. Its not healing worth a shit, when i exercise it feels its best. Every morning I wake up its incredably stiff, getting out of my car / swinging my legs any way gives sharp stabbing pains. Im sure my inability to heal has tons to do with sitting in a hard desk chair for 4-5 hours a day for school. It really sucks man but im not left with many options at all. Trust me I know it can bother you until the day you die but what the f**k else can I do but face the facts, I certainly cant will it away.
