gamidon
Paul great workout. One question, there is a statement clamped at parallel. is that for everything after that or just the elite. Sorry if this has been covered. Great stuff!!!!
pdoire
Greg, it is for all that follows unless noted otherwise. Thanks for the kind words!
pdoire
20 Red extensors 8 x 1 3 x Filed 2 #3 OC'd 5 secs Clamped @ parallel Elite x 6 parallel continuous reps...PR! Filed MM3 Dud OC 5 secs PR! MM4 Dud...missed 1/16" MM4 Dud...missed a hair MM4 Dud...missed a hair Elite opened to 1" x 3 continuous reps Filed GM x 1 #4 clamped closed to 1/4 then 4 rodeo negs ( now called BFN's ) Filed GM x 4 consecutuive reps Filed 2 x 12 consecutive reps #1 inverted ring and baby finger OC 10 secs 6 large banded pony negs I have only 2 filed grippers left now...when I went to do some reps on the filed 2 I accidentally picked up the filed GM...did 4 reps and said man this filed 2 seems a lot harder than it used to be....how fatigued am I??? I put it down and promptly did 12 full reps on the 2..weird feeling. Wasn't fully recovered from last workout. Also started doing some hill sprints and plyometrics yesterday..today body was tired and sore. Monday the MM4 will fall..
lifesnotfair
Paul, I have a few things to say to you. 1. I would actually like to see a video of you doing the red extensors. Nobody ever asks for extensor video, but I wanna see some. I even find my yellow ones extremely hard. 2. "Elite opened to 1" x 3 continuous reps" <-- damn good! What is the length of your parallel Elite? I take it about 3/4"? 3. Confusing your GM with your #2 was funny. :P 4. "Monday the MM4 will fall.." <--- 5. What is the hardest gripper you can no set? Or TNS? 6. How big are your hands? 7. Do you still train blockweights? I've seen some blockweight videos in your gallery.
pdoire
Hi, Thanks for your interest. 1)I have no intention of making video of my extensors?? I can tell you I can do 2 reds...for a partial and have done red and yellow together often. 2)Length? of parallel Elite?? I don't understand? It is clamped at parallel or 1" 5) I have not tried to TNS a gripper in a long time for a max, I focus on MMs. I TNS my filed 2 regularly during my warmups..the stronger your MMS gets the better you become at TNS. There is a definite transfer there. 6) My hands are 8 1/4" 7) If you look back in my log I have trained Blobs, Thickbar, Sledging, Formulator, ISG and Ponies. Sold my Blobs so no more of that for awhile. I may go back to Inch training on a thick handled dumbbell, I have pulled 175 with the other hand stopping rotation. I will own the MM4 on Monday..just need some rest...gonna "climb the clamps".
lifesnotfair
I know asking for an extensor video is weird, but I've never seen one on this board, and I find it amazing that you can do that much, wow. Thanks for the answers!
pdoire
Made a quick extensor video for you..my hands are still wiped from yesterday...but here is a quick vid just for you.. http://www.gripboard.com/index.php?act=mod...si&img=4920
lifesnotfair
Why thank you! Wasn't too hard wasn't it? :P It's not like I asked for a shirtless video like some people are doing to the youtube videos of bending, LOL... I just wanted to see how far from your fingertips you place the band, and how much you can open your hand. You're very strong on the extensors. I don't seem to be gaining much. Maybe I should try Brookfield's tip of opening the hand in a bucket of sand. I can do the green bands for 20 reps, but the yellow bands seem hard as hell! pdoire
The key is not as high a rep scheme as you are using. If you can Green for 20 . Try a yellow for a few. You can try to neg with them by using your other hand to help open it up and then let go .... It is hard to put them too far up your fingers because of thumb length being so much shorter. I started with Office supply store elastics...before I got these...I could do the red right away...go figure.

I am so glad the Gripboard is still here and that my records are still available. Bill Piche is an excellent administrator. I am 6'4" tall weighing 234 with 13% bodyfat and have 8 1/4" hands.
