smitty
The scoring will be typical Strongman scoring: person who finishes first in an event - will get 1 point, whomever finishes, at the end, with the least amount of points will win. underdawg
There's gonna be some huge #'s go up with that list. I'll have my camera ready, that's for sure.
austinslater
Im picking Robbie to win it all in a close one. I think BOTH Robs will place in the top 5. Unreal all around grip strength for both of these guys. Morton and tommy could easily take it as well and Im sure Im leaving some guys out but it should be fun to see who wins. mobsterone
Steve: I posted it sorted alphabetically by the last name.... You did, you did. I'm training so hard my brain aches.
Rick Walker
This is what makes it interesting! Young Robby is no where to be found on this board! He never posts, he doesnt have a gallery, and the only time we see him is when he is smashing another Mash Monster. We all need to keep in mind that he kinked a red a year ago, did a 200+ easy 2 hand pinch on fairly slippery plates, hauled up 180 on my 2.5" Teds Shed bar (closest to him was 165? I think). To the competitors I have thing to say: Be Afraid. Rick Walker

EricMilfeld
It'll be close, but I pick Robby, Dave, Clay, Tommy, in that order. I'm not sure about the rest.

Rick Walker
Also-dont leave out Jedd. He will top 5 IMO. I have yet to see 1 person match his drive and intensity. Jedd has all the tools to do well... Rick Walker
Rick Walker
Jedd Johnson the v-bar (just ahead of Eli) From what I hear Eli's v-bar poundages are far above Jedd's..... Scary stuff will happen. Rick Walker
Mikael Siversson
It'll be close, but I pick Robby, Dave, Clay, Tommy, in that order. I'm not sure about the rest. I think Jedd will beat Clay rather easily, unless Clay has made massive gains in the pinch.
austinslater
Im not sure anyone will be clay easily but I do think Jedd is going to suprise some people and place very high . . .

Tom of Iowa2
I think some guys will really get hurt on the Rolling Thunder/Thickbar.Placing low in this event with this type of scoring system can dig you a big hole. With this many particpants(and only 5 events) ONE bad event can really make things difficult to get back into it. For example if a participant does well in bending and then this participant gets next to last in the Rolling Thunder(22 points)......he's gonna have some work to do. Participant X is just a purely a hypothetical. Super Dave? Rob W.? Big Steve? A freak like Pexter could have made some huge progress since last year? Clay has well rounded strength......... Mobster dould "bring it"too What about SHRUG?But I'm not familiar with his thick bar ability. I'm a big fan of Tommy but that RT may hurt him? I'm looking foreward to a possible?WR on the Rolling Thunder? outside chance..but possible. Tom of Iowa2
As we have seen in strong man comps before you don't need to win every class to win overall. As we've seen in strongman contests.ONE bad event or one bad mistake can take an individual out of the 'money'
OldGuy
On the P&B I picked Clay to win! Doc Strossen is going to have to use all of his jounalistic skills to avoid mentioning the Gripboard in his post contest report. Monkeypaws will be penalized for overly large hands, and Steve the European will try to enforce European rules using Cockney rhyming slang. The Mac
As you said, Tom, with only five events this is a real factor. Not just who has the best strength, but who has the worst weakness?

Not just who has the best strength, but who has the worst weakness? yes. And I hope I didn't sound like I was criticizing the scoring. I like the Strongman scoring system. IF you have a weak event? Bring it up next time. Grip,IMHO,should BE like strongman.Be ready for anything. Some contests may suit you? Some won't? It happens at the Professional level of Strongman(although admittedly this years WSM is a farce...or at least a step backwards )but over the years we've seen the guys adapt.
