The russians always use that style in comps. Else where in the world people tend to use a more doorknob style pinch of it. You will pull more weight that way. Im no good at explaining how to do it but you should check out Jerome blooms and Thom Lennix fingalssons instructional videos of hub technique. You will pull more weight straight away, they helped me a lot.

I’ll keep an eye out for your attempt and try to do a door knob style attempt and see what I can get. The only time I have ever used the hub was the day I got it I worked up to a max and yesterday I worked up to a max.

It’s an iron mind pin and last time I weighed myself I was 183 should still be right around the same.

Its meant tp weigh 3.7lbs, plus the flask at 2lbs id count it as 5.5lbs or even round it down to 5lbs to keep it simple. So a 170lbs is really good. Not far off bodyweight at all.

Yeah I’m hoping to hit a body weight lift seems like a really tough lift to get stronger at though.

The flask is so slick its hard, ive been mainly doing 1 handed pinch but a few 2 handed sessions. When i tried my 60mm steel block after the flask the other day it felt like my hands were glued on in comparison. The texture of aluminium to steel is so different.

Bigfoot Grip
Nice numbers on your mock powerlifting meet. I'd also echo off of what McAlpine said about the hub. I only ever did mine with the "claw" type of grip you use. Then I watched that video of Jerome Bloom demonstrating the door knob style hub grip. I tried it out and probably lifted a good 20% more instantly. Its weird though sometimes I get it just right others are inconsistent. I like using the claw style to get volume work in and make it harder than I switch to the door knob style if I'm testing for a new PR. Not sure if that is the most optimal way though lol. You might even be good for 55lbs on your hub with that door knob style, I'd be curious to see how it works for you if you ever try it.

Yeah I’ll have to watch a couple video and give the door knob a couple tries some time next week and see how it goes.
