Yeah, big variation in RGC between generations. It's great that CPW is selling them now. I've already said multiple times on the forum that I think these are great, and I never regretted getting one. And keep in mind if the stoppers bother you, those can be filed down, and the handles will touch on each level (at least on my 2022 model, I'm not sure about the new one). Of course the tool will be out of spec in that case so Matt probably can't "convert" them, but it takes a few minutes with a hand file. -

You don't have to, but I highly recommend doing so otherwise you will need new wraps pretty soon. Depending on the wrap thickness, it can be even dangerous because well... if you used bolt cutters you see how the ends look like. But you don't need to use a grinding wheel. A metal hand file will do just fine. Keep the file fixed in one hand, and move the bar (not the file), it will be much quicker. -

I really can't see it just popping out of your hand, unless your thumb is too short to wrap around the lower half of the roller. You know when you're gonna lose it, I'd say.
