This thing is really cool.  I got the record in my first session with it.

How is it on the skin? Seems like this could almost completely eliminate tearing issues that can be a problem with normal pinch blocks. I keep debating whether to get one or not, that entire store is full of really creative implements

It was quite comfortable.

When I first saw one of those I thought that the risk of it popping out of the hand would make it a tool that injured hands at a higher rate than the average tool. Is the mode of failure for you sort of quick and violent or is it more like every other pinch tool?

I really can't see it just popping out of your hand, unless your thumb is too short to wrap around the lower half of the roller.  You know when you're gonna lose it, I'd say.
