bigboy
Members, is it functional to substitute the IM pinch block for block weights, or should I use the actual blocks (1/2 dumbbells)?
Vise
the pinch block will help simulate a double 45's pinch, not a hex blob (which is a good goal for block weights). i have both and love my block weights but if your short on cash, get the im pinch block. OldGuy
The block is slippery, but narrower than block or blob weights. I can lift quite a bit more with the block. They feel a lot different. Both being wide pinch they most likely compliment each other to some extent.
FrankyBoy
Or build your one Pinch Grip Block glueing some timbers togehter and screwing a hook into them. I built three blocks with different sizes. The largest one has a width of 3 3/4" (compared to 3" of the original IM block). This one is by far the most challenging and may compare best to block weights. SqeezeMasterFlash
You can also build a PVC blob as shown here http://www.gripboard.com/index.php?showtopic=8211
