Lich
Curious as to what everyone thinks about thick grip DB presses (or any overhead movement), like using the Holle DB for DB Military Presses and so on....
SqeezeMasterFlash
I think you'll get alot more benefit fron thick bar cleans than thick bar presses
Lich
I do clean it also. It's like this: I load up the Holle with say, 15 or 20 kg, and clean it to the press position, then press it out. The reason I ask is because I have had several people tell me that I should not be using a fat DB like that (for the pressing part). I've been told the excessive strain on the thumb makes the move too dangerous... I haven't had any problems myself, but that's why I am asking all of you grip/hand experts. SqeezeMasterFlash
I get you know. It's never caused me any extra stress on the thumb. I would say it's perfectly safe.
Lich
Thanks for the quick replies... that settles it for me then... they're good to go
foggymountainmuscle
Don't forget thick bar dumbell snatches. These are even more grip and arm intensive than dumbell cleans.
