BJones Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 OK - I understand some of you may find this as silly but today was day one of week two - the first test day of the second week. Well - it sucked - Prior to starting the KTA program I was closing the BBSM for 4-6 singles during a workout - I was using the #2 for overcrushes and "easy" days. Today - couldn't even close the #2 - set or no set - The BBSM feels like a brick. Is this normal on the KTA program? Is the overload of the negatives knocking me back and will I come back stronger? I have a hard time believing that getting weaker is a good thing. For the record I am a pretty experienced trainee - been through a lot of different programs and have used high volume programs in the past (the Russian Squat Routine for my deadlift). Do I just need to give it more time or is this an early indication of needing to not use the program? Thanks Brett Quote RED Nail Bender
youngun Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 The only time you're going to be 100% is during phase 3 and maybe on your back off weeks. Keep working your butt off and give it more time. You're laying down a solid base level of strength right now and you should come back stronger--most people who stick with it do. HAMMERHEAD Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 Post this in the KTA forum. You'll get more imput. -HH Quote
BJones Posted April 13, 2004 Author Posted April 13, 2004 I have decided to put the KTA on hold for the time being and work on some bending and block weights and some grippers until I am through with some other training I have going on. My hands just felt "bad" after the first week and I have some contests and workshops coming up where I need to be at top shape. Thanks for everyones feedback. On to some fun and some PRs. mooinabc1 Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 Bjones KTA program is very hard but effects the muscle fibre in a deep way. Well do a the KTA say and you will progress and after the end of 6 days rest two and test your self with how set close you can do with the #2. I modfied the KTA program to suit me and I have the BB master and can do 6 reps on it and do straphold on using 2.3pounds with using steel washers at 6 big steel washer=1/2 pounds. That is 2 pounds and 3 steel washers today and increase the steel washer one steel washer each day that is ever 6 days=1/2=12 days 1 pounds Quote
