Tom of Iowa2
HHMMMMM? 3 'different' types of certifications.3 diferent sets of rules? Then you have One relatively new company offering $500 to close their gripper. Arguments over the validity of the various certs.Personal preferences being voiced towards one cert or another.Certain hand sizes are favored in one certification process.Rule changes. What next?'Alphabet soup' certification groups and a grip federation?then another grip federation to counter that one? IMO the Mash Monster and Warrens will have more credibility.....IF they don't waffle and change the rules midstream......and of course for the real top guys?a contest isn't a bad idea. IMO,I feel useing athletes to endorse products IMMEDIATELY after they do a feat is not a very good way to enhance credibility either? Timing is everything...looks funny to some?suspicious to others? In other words I don't want to hear about the "Clay Edgin Chicken Choker Gripper Extension Attachment" being sold OR the the "Mobsterone Millenium it up kit" ) ....or at least wait a few months(after your feat)to write your book and start endorseing your miracle products. The Mac
This is all going the way of Powerlifting... (sigh).
Bill Piche
This is all going the way of Powerlifting... (sigh). Hardly Chris. Not even close. Take a closer look at all the facts.
Tom of Iowa2
This is all going the way of Powerlifting... (sigh). No.Not Now.Not yet. But if you look at it -in the aforementioned context-you see the possibilities. My post was meant to dramatize that IF there are more arbitrary rules changes and if more people become angry or disenchanted ...problems could arise. 57% of about 137 people do NOT approve of the rule change for the Iron Mind Certification and,IMO, this may indicate that -without another poll-the other two certs are in a good position to BE considered 'more'legitimate?IF not considered more legitimate yet?these certifications will at least have consistant rules???which should mean a lot and make them more valid in the future. IMO,have a couple of good certification processes? and don't alter the rules midstream? This should reduce the chances of 'alpahbet soup' powerlifting type federations or certification factions from popping up?
