My Training Routine

I'm really starting to get going on the CoC's with the goal of certifiying. I don't mind that my progress is a little slow because I enjoy the haul of it, and the training is a lot of fun when I know I've got something to work towards. I've been using higher volume training, usually 6 sessions a week. The problem I think is that I am going full out at each session rather than varying the intensity. I can touch and go on the #2, so my immediate goal is to master the #2 and then move on to the #3. That's basically how I got to where I am. I started in August and couldn't even close the trainer. Now I can close the #2, but I'm gonna have to structure my training better in order to get to the #3.

Today was the last session of the week, it went something like this.

Right Hand:

Trainer- 1x5 warm-up

#1- 2x3 warm-up

#2- 1x1 touch and go close (no grinding)

#2- 5x1 cheat closes followed by negatives

#1- 3x1 overcrushes (these were hell)

In the past, I've been pretty instinctive, I can close the #2, but I'm intent on putting more time into using the #2 to the point where I can domintate it. I remember when I first got the #1 and I thought, "there's no way I'll ever be able to close that!" Now I own that thing! Not too impressive to most, but a big accomplishment for my little chinese hands! LOL Although, part of my domination of the #1 may have to do with the seasoning of the coils! :(

Left Hand

Trainer- 1x5 warm-up

#1- 1x3 warm-up

#2- 1x1 cheat close and negative

#1- 3x1 overcrushes

My left hand is quite a bit weaker than my right, but it mostly has to do with the coil on the grippers.

Tommorow, I'll rest and then go heavy on monday as I start a new cycle!

I'm thinking I'll go a little easier and just use the trainer and the #1 on tuesday and wednesday a la Heath!

That is great to go from the trainer to the #2 in 5 months! :bow

I ordered my CoC trainer a week ago, and it should be here on Monday. My focus is on bending, but I am looking forward to adding the grippers into my routine. Keep up the great work!

Keep grippin!

Yeah, I busted my butt to get to this point. But the #2 and #3 are two totally different animals! My hands feel SO MUCH stronger these days! And I've experienced less soreness since using Glucosamine and working the extensors!
