I think this tradition still lives on till this day, when you certify on a CoC. I‘ll have to experience this first hand hopefully soon Wait you are saying there is a unique card that goes out if you complete the task? Like marking off the box? So there might be versions of all these cards where some of the boxes are filled in based on what you have done?

Yes, they send one with the box filled along with your tshirt and certificate. 1

HUH I didn't know that and that is really cool. @Jared P But we're still at two more versions added: The one like mine with the simple banner, then the one after the "magnus" card which added the #3.5 box. I don't know what year the cards started but the simple banner one seems like it was first and I know I got mine in 2006. I found a still of Nathan Holle closing the #4 with his filled in card that is like mine with the simple banner. He certified in 2003, but the credit card was not in place yet so that is curious. They must have given it to him after the fact? We established in another thread that Chad Woodall was the first to actually certify with a credit card in April of 2004 so that must be around when the cards emerged. Unless IronMind was providing them earlier just as a certification token and maybe that is why it was a natural fit for the starting width?

Cannon
@dubyagrip Love it. By the way, that card was officially referred to as the "Black Beauty" by IronMind. It's in a press release from them.

Not sure when the paper was added, but all mine that I was fortunate to get in the bag had the paper included. #1 with bag in mint condition although bag is not perfect. #3 with bag and literally never used! Trainer with bag also in mint condition. I didn't have scans of the paper on my computer but I would presume them to be the same was what Matt posted above.

It’s faded and kind of delaminating even though I never used it. 10 hours ago, deadgrip said: mine from 2004- I'm curious about the serial numbers. Matt's from 2006 has serial number 29293, while deadgrip's from 2004 has serial number 30276. Perhaps the serial numbers are not perfectly chronological? But they do appear to be chronological overall between versions. Nathan Holle's v1 is 10184 Matt's v1 is 29293 deadgrip's v1 is 30276 Magnus Samuelsson's v2 is 49071 IronMind photo of v2 is 50615 Jouni Parkarinen's v3 with the 3.5 addition is 53279 My v4 (sky blue compass) card is 78178 dubyagrip's v5 "Black Beauty" card is 128793 I'll update the main post tomorrow when I have some time. That year is the edition for the card, but not necessarily when you received the card. So I was wondering if you knew for sure when you received the card. I suspect the issuing has always been chronological and you possibly received your card at a later date.
deadgrip
I don’t have the invoice or email anymore but pretty sure I got it around 2004 because that’s when I first started grip training lol
