Je pensais que toutes les normes avaient le même diamètre de bobine mais une épaisseur de fil variable.@Canon?

the diameter is thicker naturally but the coil is tighter I believe unless I see poorly with the naked eye. a tighter coil with a thicker spring increases the force if I read correctly

Chromium has a larger 0.330” spring where Tungsten is 0.312”.

Standard grippers, including Chromium, have a 0.9375” coil diameter which is larger than CoC or GHP for example. This is the main way we get the ratings down.

Is this also why the tension seems to be more consistent from one unit to the next?

No, that is tender loving care in assembly and pre-testing every new batch of springs to see if the mount needs to change slightly so that the resulting strength is as consistent as possible. Like all grippers, Standard varies as well, we are just trying to make them vary less.
