A lot of people have asked me how I am training now. I have figured out a system that has me increasing my crush, bending, and pinching all at the same time without one really effecting the other.

It is really quite simple-a 3 day cycle that never ends unless, well, I just dont feel like training on a particular day.

I am training towards a few goals:

#1. 2-45s. Especially after watching Wade toy with them!

#2. 3-25s

#3. Half a 95 pound hex head-harder than the blob!

#4. Bend grade 8/ 240K challenge bar

#5. Mash Monster

12/15/05-Crush

Hot soak

Warm up:

#T x 8

#1 x 1

BBM x 1

RB 260 x 1

BBE x 1 :D

Strap holds with #3 in PDA Choker:

15 pounds-5 seconds each hand

13 pounds-5 seconds each hand

13 pounds-5 seconds each hand

Inverted Over Crushes with Pinky/Ring:

#T-10 seconds OC

#1-5 seconds OC

#1-5 seconds OC

SuperGripper:

Springs at 5&7: x 6 each hand

Springs at 6&8: x 6 each hand

Springs at 7&9: x 3 each hand

BBM x 6 each hand not set full out.

Dexterity balls- 9 minutes each hand

Contrast Hot/Cold hand soak

Rick-Im one of the few guys that like the super gripper for crush. I think it helps with the sweep. Gorrilla hands said he wouldnt be where he is without using it in the past. Later-Austin

Razor-

I got my BBE a year ago so I dont know how it compares to the new BBEs. I do know when I got it-I was closing in on the #3 and BBE still felt like a BRICK.

Austin-

I am trying it out to see how it works on the sweep. Full range movements-all the way out (to my hand length) and back in. Seems like it has some potential to build a good sweep.

Very awkward piece of equipment since I am used to the grippers-but it wont be a month or so and I will have it for reps at the hardest setting.

That is my experience, yes. Although, being a #3 closer, I can get some degree of flex into the BBE. Slightly more than the #4, but not parallel.

Wouldnt you know it!

Today is ONE OF THOSE DAYS!

No grip today. Tendonitis is a little flared up. I am going to do some cardio then hit the dexterity balls, hot/cold soaks, and Jack's Blue Heat.

12/18/03-Pinch

Plate Pinch-

2-35s x 3 sets of holds with each hand

Was pissed as it seemed hard today? Tendonitis causing havok! So-I went to 2-25s in each hand.

First I walked them 5 ties back and fourth in the garage.

Next I grabbed them and cleaned and pressed them 5 times with each hand.

Next I threw them and caught them in the air back and fourth.

Finally, I went around my body 20 times.

Enough of that!

6" wide block pinch-

35 pounds- 3 sets of hold each hand

Smurf with pinky and ring-

20 punds- 3 sets of holds

I then moved on to the TTK-I did countless amounts of sets and reps and I dont remember how many or how much. I just kept adding plates and doing reps. Single handed and dounle handed. I also did some holds.

When I was done, I could not pinch 2-25s :mellow

Outer Limit Loops: 3 sets of holds with 15 pounds.

Just realized I never posted my 12/17 workout.

I bent. Scrolled a 10-foot bar.

Bent some 60ds, some 1/4" steel, and some bolts.

Try a Chinese herbal liniment called Dit Da Jow.

Buy it from a MA specialty store.
